Role Overview:
The Nautilus Group is a service organization that supports over 200 of New York Life’s top producers. The ideal candidate will have, at a minimum, five to ten years of experience in the areas of estate planning, business planning, charitable planning, asset protection planning, and income tax planning.
What You’ll Do:
- Member Agent Support – Develop relationships with member agents. Work closely with member agents to develop estate and business strategies for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients and integrate New York Life products, where applicable. Help member agents target specific markets, including high net worth, business, and cultural markets. Provide ongoing education to member agents. Some travel may be required to assist member agents with client meetings.
- Estate and Business Planning Case Design – Create customized and sales focused estate planning cases that specifically address a client’s planning needs. Assist other members of the Case Development Team as they develop estate and business planning cases to ensure that all team members are providing the highest level of technical support. Utilize New York Life products to illustrate benefits of various non-qualified retirement planning strategies.
- Meeting Presentations – Present on the technical aspects of estate and business planning during various company and/or industry meetings as well as member agent seminars. Create ongoing Webinars to highlight company initiatives and to keep member agents updated on tax law.
- Special Projects –
- Assist with content development by creating new educational pieces for member agents (white papers, agent newsletters, website content, industry articles, etc.);
- Take a leadership role in implementing new initiatives (opportunities resulting from changing laws, integration of new company products, content development around core offerings, etc.); and
- Monthly training of Nautilus staff members.
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ experience working in the advanced market. Possess a detailed understanding of estate and gift transfer tax planning, business planning, qualified and nonqualified
retirement planning, charitable planning, and income tax planning. - Juris Doctor required. CPA or LLM preferred.
- Experience presenting complicated advanced planning techniques to other advisors and to clients and should have experience engaging parties to implement suggested strategies.
- Detailed knowledge of life insurance products, life insurance taxation, life insurance funding (e.g., split dollar, premium financing) and how to utilize life insurance for a high-net-worth individual’s business and estate planning needs.
- Requires detailed knowledge of annuity products, annuity taxation, and how to utilize annuities for a high-net-worth individual’s retirement and estate planning needs.
- Experience integrating financial planning concepts and estate and business planning strategies to develop a comprehensive plan for high-net-worth clients and business owners.
- Ability to utilize excel to create financial models to illustrate various planning strategies.
- Ability to serve as a technical expert in the Case Development team and should be a high performer in terms of productivity and member agent relations.
- Ability to work independently with little to no technical guidance from management or other members of the Case Development team.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $107,500 - $182,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
