Duties: Prepares and reviews testing strategy, gap analysis, and works across teams to mature test integration strategies.  Creates test plans for system maintenance and project releases.  Analyzes business and technical requirements for validity, feasibility, and technical soundness and decomposes them to extract positive and negative test scenarios and strong acceptance criteria.  Leverages methodical and repeatable processes to verify releases meet quality standards before launch.  Collaborates with the Development team to improve the quality of deliverables and ensure business needs are met.  Designs functional and non- functional test cases that verify requirements and validate functionalities.  Sets up project-specific testing environments and coordinates defect tracking, reporting, and resolution.  Leads the Quality Assurance (QA) team in developing and implementing "best practices."  Collaborates closely with the Development team to deliver software releases with an ever-increasing quality level.   Works closely with Product Management, Development, Support, Sales, and Services teams to prioritize assignments and manage risks and issues to ensure successful delivery with high-quality.  Develops metrics and keeps the Project Manager abreast of potential quality risks.  Works to enhance and design new automation frameworks to support more efficient testing.  Participates in release planning, sprint kick off, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Conducts feasibility analysis for applications where automation is required using Selenium and CodeceptJS.  Performs application programming interface (API) application testing and programs new automated components using automation frameworks.  Performs risk assessment and applies test strategies and techniques to reduce risk without compromising quality.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of experience performing front end, backend, web services, and database testing

Or, in the alternative:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 5 years of experience performing front end, backend, web services, and database testing

 

Required Skills:

Experience must include 1 year of experience in each of the following skills:

 

     (1) Performing database testing leveraging Oracle and SQL Server databases;

 

     (2) Performing data creation, modification, and mining and writing SQL queries leveraging Oracle TOAD;

 

     (3) Creating and maintaining hybrid or behavior-driven test automation framework to design and execute scripts for functional, regression, and web service testing leveraging Selenium WebDriver and Unified Functional Testing (UFT);

 

     (4) Performing defect management, configuration management, and test management leveraging PractiTest, Quality Center, JIRA, and iConnect defect management tools; and,

 

     (5)  Analyzing and designing complex queries for backend testing to validate premium and rate calculations leveraging Oracle/SQL Server integrated with HP Mercury interactive test tools.
