ASO Banking Analyst

The ASO Banking Analyst role is a client-facing role that is responsible for providing financial support on ASO banking related functions to new and/or existing Group Benefit Solutions accounts across all market segments. This role will serve as a liaison between our Bank Partners, Clients, and Internal business partners during initial New Business Client setup and support ongoing account maintenance for existing business. The ASO Banking Analyst will be the point of contact to set-up and monitor client subaccounts and resolve any over-drafted balances. This role will also resolve all requests coming into the ASO Banking unit for simple and complex inquiries, as well as escalated service situations. The ASO Banking Analyst is an organized, technically savvy, results oriented, problem solver who is considered an expert in customer service.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Assists in opening client subaccounts by collaborating with multiple internal business partners, the client, and Citibank. 
•    Partners with internal and external stakeholders to provide in-depth training in the review of ASO banking guidelines including account balance maintenance and reporting functionalities. 
•    Mitigates overdraft fees/penalties and insufficient claim funding by performing daily, weekly, and monthly reconcilement on the accounts within their assigned book of business.
•    Performs daily reconciliation of reporting between Citibank and NYL check registers, all identified variances will be researched and resolved. 
•    Establishes claim holds on overdrawn subaccounts and partners with internal and external business partners to resolve underfunded account balances to ensure accounts are returned to a sufficiently funded status in a timely manner.
•    Supports a positive client experience by addressing client inquiries, change requests, policy cancellation requests, and account closures timely and accurately.    
•    Ensures account balance histories remain accurate by diligently monitoring closed accounts through claims run out periods.  
•    Performs specific audit control procedures to ensure ASO Banking tasks comply with department Sarbanes Oxley controls. 
•    Documents SOX tests performed, audit observations, and conclusions in accordance with documentation standards.

 

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or other related field preferred.
•    3+ years of previous service experience working in a customer/client-facing role required.
•    Insurance industry knowledge and experience is a plus.
•    Strong understanding of accounting principles, control procedures and audit standards, practices, and techniques.
•    Demonstrates a strong focus on customer service when partnering with internal and external business partners.
•    Strong verbal / written communication and organizational skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels and functions within the organization.
•    Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Excel spreadsheet manipulation and MS Access data input. Ability to troubleshoot error occurrences on excel reporting is preferred.
•    Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.

Salary range: $50,000-$75,000 

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
