Program Overview
New York Life is seeking a highly organized and innovative thinker to join our Group Benefit Solutions Strategy, Solutions and Marketing Summer Internship program!
Beginning the week of June 5, 2023 and concluding the week of August 7, 2023, our 10-week program offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As summer intern, you’ll attend in learning and development activities, gain insight into to our businesses and how our company functions, and participate in additional social and networking opportunities.
This internship opportunity will be hybrid, located at our Chattanooga, TN office.
Role Overview
There will be four different roles/placements under this internship position. On your application please indicate your top two choices for role placement.
1. Product
- Participate and/or lead initiatives tied to Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) Product Management Organization
- Product Management inclusive of GBS products (what we sell), GBS capabilities (how we deliver) as well as GBS experiences we provide (how we execute to those we serve)
- Work involves cross functional partnership across multiple areas within the division and will get provide exposure to many insurance functions, including IT, Operations, Product, Finance, etc.
- Great opportunity for strategic minded individuals, who are self-starter, learn quickly, and can drive results
2. Learning and Development
- Creative support developing infographics and templates
- Internet support - planning/wireframing
- Compiling tracking metrics, improve navigation, improve look and feel as well as capabilities (drop down menus, embed videos, etc)
- Process support – Researching, identifying next steps, and establishing processes/best practices for internal new employee onboarding program
- Event planning – Internal planning for charitable and employee engagement events. Includes working with community partners, caterers, video development, logistics and communications, etc.
3. Marketing and Communications
- Work with Marketing leaders to optimize intranet footprint and asset publishing
- Support asset rationalization, search, navigation and hosting
- Compile tracking metrics to measure utilization
- Work on best-in-class look and feel to drive a simple and positive user experience
- Assist in the preparation of project status reports.
4. Sales Proposals
- Review current process for receipt, completion and approvals and recommend an enhanced process as well as platform/tool to drive efficiencies.
- Review actual questions and answers and enhance responses for a better experience aligned to value prop, differentiation and capabilities.
Skills and qualifications
- Must be a rising junior or senior at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduationdate between spring 2024 and spring 2025
- Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Have held leadership roles or significantly contributed to campus or community extracurricular activities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Previous internship experience a plus but not required
- Experience with creative content development
