The New Account Analysts are responsible for meeting and exceeding NYLIFE Securities Service Level Requirements.   All candidates must be willing to progress towards the handling of incoming calls by providing outstanding customer service to our NY Life sales professionals, their staff and directly from clients. This is a very structured position that includes learning and communicating operational/legal procedures, multiple systems and financial industry policies while working in a fast-paced environment. Additional duties and tasks (processing, special projects, etc.) will be required dependent upon business needs.



  • Processing and updating client profile information through Book & Records periodic notifications and other written instructions.
  • Handling various Inforce correspondence and maintenance items such as beneficiary updates, check writing feature requests, name changes, review and processing of Power of Attorney requests, various ad-hoc letters of instruction.
  • Managing periodic reports, returned mail, incoming faxes, emails, and rejected work items
  • Entering new account information for brokerage (AdvisorOne), MainStay, non-proprietary, and general agency new business. The associate must ensure the application is in compliance with all NYLIFE Securities policies and securities industry regulations.
  • Managing workflow queues within our service levels. Respond to customer and registered representative inquiries related to the servicing of client brokerage accounts.
  • Timely management of Succession Planning and Commissions related tasks.


Desired Skills & Experience:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree – Finance or Business discipline preferred 
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Series 7 & 63  FINRA licenses desired
  • Experience with National Financial Service FBSI mainframe system preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with listening skills
  • Positive, customer focused attitude with a desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Must be able to operate in a team environment and contribute to the company and team goals
  • Ability to be forward thinking to plan ahead in anticipation of daily, weekly, and seasonal spikes in volumes
  • Excellent at following up on pending and open work items
  • Strong technical and analytical skills required
