Corporate Vice President, Field Learning & Development

** This position primarily covers the offsite Training & Development facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. The ideal candidate location is in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. **

 

 

Role Overview:

The CVP of the offsite Training & Development facility at the Hilton Dallas Fort Worth Executive Conference Center is to provide not only supervision of the logistical operation of NYLIC University Agent and Management development, but to also to create innovative learning solutions that blend multiple instructional modalities that reach a diverse audience. The CVP is accountable for implementing and attaining the Field Productivity Value Stream business goals and is expected to oversee physical management of onsite multi-day Program workshops, as well as build and support interactive eLearning content, robust job aids and infographics, and work independently with subject matter experts to develop course materials. The candidate will be responsible for identification of course objectives through completion and final gold delivery.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

Project Management:

  • Responsible for the general oversight of the offsite Training & Development facility at the Dallas Fort Worth Executive Conference Center.
    • Liaise with the onsite property management team
    • Workshop scheduling
    • Facilitator scheduling
    • Attendee processing and attendance
    • Materials inventory maintenance

 

Field Learning – Agent and Management Development:

  • Corporate oversight of the entire NYLIC University offsite Training & Development facility at the Dallas Fort Worth Executive Conference Center that includes over 20 events and workshops training over 1000 Agents and 300 Managers.
  • Establish systems and procedures for measuring and analyzing the results of NYLIC University and implementing those systems. These would include complex statistical analysis and should be reproducible and broadly applicable to all Agent and Management Training efforts.
  • Ensure that the educational content utilized in various NYLIC University schools and programs meets the quality and production standards, including availability for scheduled school dates.
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

 

Instructional Design:

  • Build courses from scratch leveraging SMEs and Field experts using PowerPoint, Adobe, Rise, Storyline, etc.
  • Create designs that blend multiple instructional modalities to reach a diverse audience.
  • Create innovative learning solutions that empower new agents to succeed in building their business.
  • Collaborate with field experts to create learning solutions that help managers succeed in recruiting and developing agents.
  • Ability to convert complex information into easily used and understandable text with minimal support or guidance.  
  • Five or more years of experience writing content in multiple delivery modalities for non-technical training: design documents, job aids, videos, eLearning storyboards, virtual classrooms for a blended learning curriculum that includes on-demand courses, as well as live webinars and instructor-led in person learning.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, continually changing environment while meeting tight deadlines and quality standards.
  • Strong project management skills, able to prioritize work and effectively influence others to meet project deliverable dates.
  • Experience and knowledge in the insurance and/or financial services industry.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Word capabilities.

 

Decision Making

  • This position has a high level of independence, making decisions and making recommendations to the Head of Field Learning, and as such, this position is highly autonomous requiring little supervision.
  • Will require the exercise of sound judgment, anticipating problems and making appropriate and timely decisions to ensure the smooth and successful operation and implementation of Agent and Manager focused NYLIC University programs. 
  • One must be proactive in managing projects. This includes content, methodology, scheduling, and delivery.

 

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Frequent travel to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area (65%).
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as an Agent or Manager is a plus.
  • Specialized knowledge in analysis and evaluation.
  • CLU, ChFC designations preferred.
  • Requires an in-depth understanding of the financial services business, the Agency Field and Management operation and the role of the Agent and their business needs.
  • Demonstrates skills in the techniques, practices, and methods of adult education.
  • Express information through both written and oral communications in a clear and professional manner.
  • The CVP will be required to communicate with Agents in the field, Product Managers, Field Management (Zones, Managing Partners, and Development Managers) and Senior Management. This person must possess excellent written, oral and communication skills and be able to present at company meetings.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
  • Strong marketing and public relations experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $116,000 - $145,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
