Working under the direction of the  Manager, the Representative will work, with minimal supervision, to achieve the goals of processing the following payment transactions: Process reinstatements by using loan/dividend value; manually calculate reinstatement amounts; review variances produced from automated payments; process manual updates to policy records; complete business expert review of complaint cases and research and calculate amounts for complex rescission calculations. They are a technical expert for all processes listed above. They will be expected to review procedures, make suggestions when appropriate, and assist in drafting updates to procedures when new products are introduced, or system changes are required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Processes payment requests while working autonomously within established departmental procedures to resolve more difficult payment issues, such as complaints
  • Answers Agent and Policyholder calls related to payment requests within the Payments Team and basic service requests of other Teams
  • Within regulatory guidelines, transacts financial activity on policyholder accounts in a timely manner, with quality and efficiency levels as determined by department guidelines
  • Acts as a technical expert in payment requests listed above; Provides formal subject matter guidance to more junior team members on moderately difficult subjects, such as reinstatements
  • Assists team members on a daily basis to complete payment requests in order to meet departmental and regulatory standards
  • May suggest improvements and solutions to existing payment related processes and solutions to improve the efficiency of the work
  • Works on special assignments as assigned by Manager, to include payment issue recovery efforts, system enhancements

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of experience with payment processing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or bookkeeping preferred
  • Demonstrated experience using available resources to research procedures and guidelines to solve atypical payment issues required
  • Technical aptitude and ability to multitask between several systems required
  • Strong oral and written communication, customer service  and analytical problem solving skills required
