Duties: Defines naming, governing, modeling, transforming, and data delivery standards. Works with Product Owner and Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs for new data structures, reports, cubes, and dashboards. Designs and enhances dimensional data models and data marts to support multiple departments’ analytical and operational data requirements. Designs, develops, and supports complex integration processes using SQL Server integration tools, DataStage, stored procedures, and scripting. Modifies existing database code, builds new data warehouse data marts from source to target, and provides minor production assistance. Understands, defines, and recommends  changes to existing databases, software, hardware, and application environment in tandem with current business needs and direction. Plans and executes platform and application upgrades for Oracle, SQL Server, SSIS Extract Load Transform (ETL), MicroStrategy, and Precisely Connect. Provides solutions to Oracle and MicroStrategy performance monitoring and tuning. Performs root cause analysis for issues and provides effective resolution. Designs and develops code versioning for builds and deployment processes. Provides long-term solutions for high-impact production incidents and disaster recovery. Deploys Quality Assurance (QA) patterns for SSIS ETL and database changes through implementation into a model environment. Executes database architecture and modeling for new data structures to support relational database management system (RDBMS) or Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) solutions. Educates and trains business and systems personnel related to data analysis, logical data design, standards, and procedures for data usage. Develops ETL processes necessary to extract data from multiple data sources using SSIS and load to data warehouse. Performs data analysis and develops source-to-target data mapping. Creates and maintains documentation of data integration specifications and ETL processes for business and IT teams. Leverages sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed ETL is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault-tolerant.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining a financial services data warehouse and performing business intelligence (BI) and operational reporting

 

Or, in the alternative:

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 5 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining a financial services data warehouse and performing business intelligence (BI) and operational reporting

 

Required Skills:

Experience must include 3 years in each of the following:

(       1) Working with multiple databases across multiple platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 and conducting performance monitoring and tuning, user security, and governance aspects leveraging knowledge of in-memory, redaction, and partitioning features;

(      2) Leveraging DataStage, Informatica, and SSIS ETL tools and IBM CDC or Connect CDC data replication tools to extract, transform, and load data to a data warehouse in real time;

(     3) Developing complex business rules and ETL workflows using Oracle PLSQL procedures, T-SQL, Python, Perl, and Unix Shell Scripting;

(     4) Leveraging SAP Business Objects, MicroStrategy, and Tableau to produce operational and analytical reports, dashboards, data lineage, and glossaries to govern data and metadata; and,

(       5) Leveraging knowledge of life insurance policy servicing, claims, call center data modeling, and analytics, as well as Marketing, Financial/Accounting, and Investment Management use cases to design data models using ERwin modeling software, supporting business reporting and insights.

Salary range: $117,500-$177,500
