GuideMe is the digital planning tool that helps our agents bring this approach to life. It’s designed to help our agents build rapport and understand a client’s situation, better match a solution to a need, and simplify communication of the value of that solution. The end result of GuideMe is a shift from product sales to relationship building in a way that meets the evolving expectations of modern consumers.


The early field results and feedback on GuideMe have been very positive. GuideMe reduces case design work and training needs, keeps appointments on track, and helps build agent confidence by providing guardrails for a conversational appointment flow. The early evidence shows that agents who use GuideMe are more effective as a result.


We have ambitious plans for GuideMe in 2022 and beyond. Our roadmap includes experiences that cater to a wider range of increasingly sophisticated agent practices and client types, as well as cover an expanded number of New York Life products.


As GuideMe grows in scale and complexity, we’re looking to add a Senior User Interface Product Developer to the team who can work with key partners across our product management and user experience organization to conceive and create exceptional experiences for our agents and their clients.



  • As part of the Product Management group, work with UI Designers and apply your own UI design skills to the building of proof of concepts and prototypes, rapidly producing deliverables for internal use, usability testing, presentation to customers, and sales demos.
  • Use Figma to prototype the UI for internal applications, frameworks, and in some cases customers.
  • Become expert on UI-related functionality and serve as a subject matter expert within the organization.
  • Provide input into Product Management decisions on changes and enhancements, at times playing a direct role in the design process.
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure that concepts are feasible in the product development technology set.



  • 7+ years of successfully working on enterprise-scale, multi-tier, web-based commercial software applications. Extensive experience with rich-client interfaces, preferably browser-based.
  • Expert knowledge of Web Technologies (HTMLX, CSS, etc.), JavaScript, Figma/Sketch, InVision, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with the latest UI technologies and toolkits for building rich experiences in a browser-based interface.
  • In-depth knowledge of User Interface Design principals, Human Factors, User
    Centered Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability
    Methodologies, industry standards and trends, platform standards, and the software development process. Equally important is an innate sense of how people perceive and interact with software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop additional skills and expertise over time.
  • Degree in a related field is a plus.



Salary range: $115,000-$175,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
