New York Life’s Institutional Annuities is hiring a Client Service Representative in its Jersey City, NJ location. We are looking for customer- focused, accountable, efficient and engaged professionals who are dedicated to and guided by a commitment to service excellence.

 

Training & Development:

 

Client Service Representatives undergo training to learn about the product, contract provisions, and transaction processing. Coaching and feedback is provided to help you gain the necessary skills to be successful. 

  

The Representative is responsible for client service and administration of group annuity contracts that fund pension plan obligations from our pension risk transfer business.

 

           Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Review and interpret contract language relative to calculating and processing retirement benefits
  • Process benefit payments to retirees in our annuity payment systems
  • Review and interpret contract language and retirement certificates relative to death benefits payable as a result of an annuitant's death
  • Review retiree's forms and other supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Locate participants that may have due and unpaid benefits
  • Handle inbound phone inquiries from retirees and/or their family member(s), financial institutions, and contract holders.
  • Process routine financial and non-financial activity on client accounts with both expediency and accuracy
  • Proactively manage assigned caseload
  • Assist with projects as needed 
     
    Desired Skills & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's or associates degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel, with the ability to navigate multiple applications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to work independently while remaining flexible to meet team goals
  • Ability to follow established procedures and stay current with internal control procedures

  • Position is for the hours of 9 to 5
