We are looking for a Product Manager to build and drive the strategy behind the digital products used by New York Life's agents to run their businesses. New York Life has over 12,000 agents across the country, who operate as independent business people, selling life insurance, annuities, and other financial products to consumers and small businesses.

New York Life is on a multi-year journey of digital transformation. This role would put you at the heart of setting the vision and driving change at one of the most storied organizations in the Fortune 100. The Corporate Vice President must be a seasoned digital native leader, powered by a strong vision and clear execution strategy.

 

Responsibilities

Define and execute a strategy for a suite of digital products to evolve Agency Digital, including a three-year feature roadmap to support it

Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that improve customer experience and drive growth

Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and products

Translate product strategy into lightweight, functional prototypes and detailed requirements, to enable engineering resources to successfully execute

Partner with other digital teams across Marketing, Service, and Life Products to ensure our digital experience is cohesive and integrated for NYL agents

Create buy-in for the product vision across our partner digital organizations and Agency stakeholder groups identified earlier

Work with key Agency stakeholders to drive field adoption of new features and to ensure that end users are generating business value through our digital products

Act as a product evangelist with key end user groups to build awareness and understanding

Serve as an in-house expert for our products and become the point person for all functional issues

Manage the entire product line life cycle from sunsetting legacy features to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

Previous work experience as a digital product manager for 10+ year(s)

Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to both executive management and engineering teams

Strong experience with user experience strategy and design

Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

In-depth knowledge of Agile methodology for product development

Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.

Must be a strong writer and public speaker in front of large, senior groups

Capable of influencing and building consensus at all levels: peers, executives, team members

Pushes the organization to constantly improve, shows opportunities, stimulated out-of-the-box thinking

Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done

Creative thinker with a vision

Bachelor's degree required; MA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field a strong plus

MBA or certifications in digital marketing technologies a strong plus
