New York Life Insurance (NYL) is seeking a highly talented, driven Integration Delivery Lead to join our dynamic, high-performing team focused on transforming the experience of purchasing insurance from NYL.  NYL is uniquely positioned for success on this journey thanks to our significant strategic advantage in insurance expertise and deep financial resources.    

 

The Integration Delivery Lead manages one or more teams aligned to an application suite through the technology delivery lifecycle.  This role requires expert team building, relationship management, and delivery management skills.  It requires a unique ability to dive deep to resolve complex technology, process, and operational challenges one hour, and then elevate to provide executive-level progress updates the next.  The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience in Delivery Management on large-scale programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team or teams including offshore vendor resources aligned to integrating a life insurance platform with existing NYL systems
  • Lead, coach, develop and support employee and consultant Integration Developers
  • Manage a key vendor relationship, including resources, capacity planning, delivery capability optimization, and issue management
  • Work with multiple offshore partners and perform Knowledge Transfer when necessary
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture team to ensure standards and best practices are being adhered to on new integration development
  • Provide technical expertise during the requirements gathering phase of a project
  • Accurately detail new technical and/or non-functional requirements, improvements to existing functionality, and implementation deficiencies that need to be addressed.
  • Manage dotted line relationships with supporting functions, including business analysis, project management, and quality engineering, with a focus on collaboration and quality
  • Collaborate with product owners and scrum masters to manage product backlog and prioritize user stories and defects
  • Mature use of scaled agile to increase velocity, provide greater transparency to business stakeholders, establish quantifiable metrics (burndowns, sprint say/do rates, defect density, etc.), and improve quality
  • Develop a team culture of collaboration that encourages challenging and supporting each other, embrace continuous improvement, and a high sense of accountability of outcomes
  • Build business relationships with Product Owners and stakeholders across business units based on trust, mutual accountability for outcomes, and alignment to common goals
  • Ensure applications meet all SLAs for production performance, and challenge teams to identify new SLAs, and incrementally improve existing targets
  • Articulate technology issues/concerns to non-IT stakeholders including senior business sponsors
     

Required Skills

  • Good understanding of software development engineering principles, frameworks, and technologies
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals
  • Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
     

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience with agile development methodologies on programs with multiple teams and technologies
  • 5+ years of experience in Life Insurance or Financial Services industries
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to varying audiences, including non-technical business executives
  • Knowledge of modern Infrastructure and Application Development practices and tools
  • Knowledge of Cloud-Enabled/Optimized practices and implications for Application Development
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field and/or equivalent work experience
     

Optional Experience

  • Experience working with Accenture Life Insurance & Annuity Platform (ALIP) or similar platforms a big plus

 

The salary range for this position is between $132,500 - $197,500. This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits.
