Manager - Pension Risk Transfer Annuity Operations and Service
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking leader to lead an operations team in our Institutional Annuities (IA) Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business in a hybrid role at our Jersey City location. The PRT team services group annuity contracts, which fund defined benefit pension plan obligations and works with annuitants and plan sponsors. Reporting to IA’s COO, and a member of IA’s Operations Leadership Team, the PRT Operations Manager drives service excellence and continuous improvement in support of IA’s growing PRT business.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team responsible for new business, retirement benefit calculations, in-force transactions, tax reporting, inbound contact servicing and death claims
- Help identify and coordinate technology enhancements to PRT administration systems and provide oversight for user acceptance testing
- Implement process enhancements and remove barriers to providing quality and timely service to our clients
- Handle the hiring, management, and development of a team of operations professionals
- Set team priorities to optimize service delivery and ensure client inquiries and requests are handled in accordance with departmental standards
- Promote a client focused orientation and an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Identify issues impacting service delivery and, to ensure they don’t persist, develop action plans to remediate them
- Lead training and procedure reviews and updates
- Work with closely related areas, e.g., PRT New Business, Technology and Risk to coordinate work activities and improve efficiency
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree, business discipline preferred
- Strong leadership abilities: able to communicate objectives, influence without direct authority, delegate and motivate, and promote teamwork and efficient workflow
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a client services and/or operations area
- Understanding of pension risk transfer operations and/or income annuity operations preferred
- Experience leveraging and developing performance metrics
- Experience working on projects using Agile methodology a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $77,500-$132,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
