The IT Audit & Compliance team is responsible for coordinating various audit and regulatory reviews that impact the Technology and Security groups within New York Life.


The IT Issues Management and Regulatory Compliance Senior Associate role is responsible for the oversight and governance of issues and assists in reporting the issues to ensure that risks are being addressed, remediation is occurring timely, and management has transparency through established reporting. Also, this individual will assist in coordinating 1) the review of NYL’s compliance with New York State Department of Financial Services (NYS DFS) Reg 500 (Cybersecurity) and 2) the IT State Examinations performed by NYS DFS, Delaware (DE) and Pennsylvania (PA). Additionally, this person will support the Secretary of the IT Risk Committee with facilitating monthly meetings.


• Assist manager in performing oversight and governance on all issues and observations from internal/external audits, MAR/SOX and IT Risk Assessments and any additional technology related assessment work.
• Develop and prepare quarterly metrics reports for management to ensure key trends and issues are presented clearly and accurately.
• Contribute to the design and enhancement of IT issue and remediation status reports to improve current processes.
• Assist in coordinating the review of NYL’s compliance with NYS DFS Reg 500 and the CISO’s Annual Certifications with NYS and DE.
• Assist in coordinating the IT related requests for the NYS DFS, DE and PA State Examinations.
• Support the Secretary of the IT Risk Committee with facilitating monthly IT Risk Committee meetings, including logistics, content, materials, and meeting minutes.


• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years IT Audit, IT Compliance or IT Risk experience in financial or insurance environments.
• Good technical knowledge of Information Security Policies and Standards and regulatory requirements including NYS DFS Reg 500 (Cybersecurity).
• Good technical knowledge in risk identification and mitigation.
• A broad technical understanding of IT operating systems and applications.

• Experience with network, infrastructure, database, or systems and application security.
• Proven experience in a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) framework.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel (vlookup, formulas, pivot tables, and macros) and PowerPoint; with Tableau (or other data visualization tools) and Microsoft Access a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Project Management skills.
• Ability to understand and handle complex and diversified work.
• Ability to function independently with limited direction.


The salary range for this position is between $72,500 - $107,500. This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits.
