Corporate Vice President, Zone Development Officer
Role Overview:
This role leads field development strategy across the General Office and Zone, ensuring consistent execution of training programs, leadership standards, and core systems. The position oversees the recruitment, development and performance management of Development Managers while reinforcing disciplined use of key technology platforms to drive sales performance and sustained growth.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead the implementation of NYLIC University and the Field Development System across the General Office, conducting reviews and reinforcing standards to ensure consistent execution and alignment with company expectations.
• Develop and coach Development Managers by providing onboarding for new leaders and ongoing development for experienced managers to strengthen leadership capability and improve performance outcomes.
• Drive sales performance through training leadership, directing Development Managers to translate training strategy into effective field execution and increased productivity.
• Manage the recruitment and selection process for Development Managers, building a strong leadership pipeline to support sustained growth and organizational stability.
• Oversee performance management and employee administration, including evaluations and compensation actions, while promoting effective use of key technology platforms to support accountability and operational excellence.
• Partner with General Offices to drive Proactive Agent Base growth and improve New Org Retention, reinforcing accountability and execution strategies that strengthen productivity and long-term field stability.
• Support the Zone Management Team in the overall operation of the Zone, advancing strategic priorities and ensuring coordinated execution across General Offices.
What You’ll Bring:
You bring strong proficiency in New York Life’s core platforms, including Dashboard 2.0, GuideMe, the New Org Retention Tool, NYLIC University and AI-enabled tools, using data and systems to drive accountability and informed decision-making. You apply sound judgment and structured problem-solving to deliver measurable results and partner effectively with Zone leadership to support operational priorities. You manage performance matters with professionalism and discretion, and your leadership presence and collaborative approach enable you to drive consistent field execution.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree required
• 5-10 years of experience in the life insurance industry
• Prior Development Manager experience preferred
• Series 6 and 63 licenses required
• Series 26 license preferred; must obtain if not currently held
• CLU and ChFC designations
• Strong knowledge of company products and sales practice requirements
• Demonstrated analytical ability, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $160,000-$228,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
