Associate - Security Program Administrator


The Institutional Life strategic business unit is seeking an experienced, reliable Security Program Administrator to manage Security Administration and User Account Management activities for the Department.  The individual will work as a member of the Controls Team and will be responsible for all User Account Governance matters. 


  • Develop an ongoing, sustainable, consistent security program to support corporate policies and business needs
  • Develop metrics and methods to report statistics to Sr. Management
  • Perform ongoing quarterly system recertifications.
  • Process user access requests and ensure accurate completion.
  • Maintain records in an organized & consistent manner (emails, service tickets, Excel/Word documents etc.)
  • Respond to audit requests relative to security access.
  • Provide support to the department’s user population to investigate, resolve and/or escalate systems access issues to the NYL Corporate IT Department.

The Security Administrator will be responsible for all User Account Administration tasks (tracking, monitoring & reviewing systems access for the department’s internal and external user population) and will continuously identify, assess, measure and monitor gaps in the program to increase its effectiveness.


To be successful in this role, the candidate should have prior education and/or experience within the area of user technical support and information security administration.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in related field
  • Experience in the development/maintenance of security access control policy, processes and standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to research, make inquiries & follow a line of investigation to solve issues and document results
  • Ability to function independently with limited direction
  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Industry certifications (or progress toward them) will be considered a plus (Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Equivalent)
