The Associate New Business Concierge is responsible for helping to create and maintain an exceptional service experience for our internal and external customers from submission of a case through payment of commission. The Retail Life Third Party Distribution unit of New York Life, also known publicly as Advanced Markets Network (AMN), offers NYL traditional life insurance products (whole life, universal life, term, linked benefit) primarily through outside brokerage general agencies (BGAs) and producers that focus on the High Net Worth (HNW) market. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Provide proactive case management and coordination throughout the new business cycle (submission, underwriting, issue and delivery) as the key contact person for BGA Case Managers.
•    Provide best in class service to Brokerage General Agencies (BGAs) and their case managers who serve the high net worth market.
•    Become skilled at handling problem resolution for complex cases and know when to refer a problem to a manager or other subject matter expert for assistance.
•    Coordinate with all internal regional stakeholders, including the Field Director, Underwriters, Sales Support team, Disbursements team, and Licensing & Contracting team.
•    Exercise prudent judgment in identifying innovative solutions to satisfy the customer as well as New York Life’s requirements.
•    Develop a full understanding of case requirements and best practices in coordinating all aspects of a submission.  
•    Ensure ease of doing business with New York Life through proactive outreach to the Field Director and third-party distributor case managers through timely and accurate communication.
•    Assist with training and on-boarding new firms by introducing them to New York Life processes and requirements. 
•    Develop a good working knowledge of life insurance new business requirements, life insurance products, and product illustrations.
•    Become thoroughly familiar with New Business “age and amount” requirements and licensing and contracting requirements.
•    Work independently and use good judgment in making decisions that often have cross-functional impact.
•    Assist with special projects as assigned and provide backup support for other team members as required to achieve workload balance. Support may include assisting with processing of applications, policy preparation, quality control and other duties necessary to maintain service level standards.  

 

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

•    Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
•    Customer service and administrative experience in retail life insurance operations strongly preferred
•    Highly proficient in the Microsoft 365 product suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
•    Ability to efficiently prioritize and manage work with minimal supervision. Flexible in adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills     
•    Must have FINRA registration or pass the appropriate exams within 1 year of hire

 

 

Salary range: $47,500-$70,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
