In our Leawood, Kansas office, we are seeking a highly talented and driven Commission Specialist to join our dynamic, high-performing team focused on providing top level service to our institutional clients with an industry leading business unit, Institutional Life (IL). IL offers sophisticated life insurance products in the Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI), Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) and Corporate Sponsored markets.

 

This role is on the Case Management Operations team which validates and facilities all commission payments to our producers, agents, and servicers.  This role will collaborate across Institutional Life’s Case Management Team to improve processes and help modernize the business. As a Commission Specialist you will facilitate the receipt, analysis and processing of inbound/outbound commission related correspondence including execution of commission disbursements earned for BOLI, COLI, and retail insurance policy transactions. This position will report directly to the Institutional Life Business Services Commission Team Manager.  This is an excellent opportunity for a highly competent, driven, “team-first” professional to join an organization that values teamwork, service to community, and a client-first approach to business.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for commission preparation and payment processes which may include analysis, reconciliation, reporting, and proposal or resolution processing of issues that meet our internal and external customer expectations
  • Working collaboratively, you will be entrusted with ensuring timely and accurate completion of all requests within compliance and quality benchmarks, while also identifying and advancing opportunities to improve our team’s overall efficiency and quality of service
  • Compose accurate agent and client correspondence on request as well as articulate basic information in the functional area
  • Within regulatory guidelines, review and process compensation transactions using various administrative systems such as Mainframe, Salesforce, and BASIS on client accounts with speed and accuracy
  • Coordinate with appropriate internal teams when necessary to solve more complex problems
  • Support various teams with broker and agent questions regarding their commissions
  • Verify brokers are set up correctly for all incoming commissions
  • Generate reports from various systems related to commission payments

 

Requirements of the role include:

 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player
  • Has strong customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for learning and improving the business
  • Must have or obtain NASD Series 6 within first year
  • Must have or complete LOMA courses 1 and 2 within first year
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
