The Institutional Life Summer Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer, you’ll participate in learning and development activities, gaining insight into to our businesses and how our company functions. The program also includes additional social and networking opportunities.

This is a 10-week long program, beginning the week of June 5, 2023 and concluding the week of August 7, 2023. This internship will be based in Leawood, Kansas.

Internship placements

Internships are available in a few departments including Accounting, Marketing/ Sales and Technology.  Placement is based on candidate skills, experience, and preference. Depending on the internship placement within our departments, previous summer experiences have included but are not limited to:

• Partnering with business team members and peers
• Training and development seminars with Learning & Organizational Development
• Networking opportunities with leadership
• Creating and participating in individual and/or group presentations
• Assisting in projects and responsibilities as determined by the internship manager and team

Required skills and qualifications

• Must be a rising junior or senior at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between spring 2023 and spring 2024
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Have held leadership roles or significantly contributed to campus or community extracurricular activities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Previous internship experience a plus but not required
• Business or Technology major preferred 
• Experience with Microsoft programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Access strongly preferred

• Interns are expected to work for the duration of the 10 week internship. 

Salary range: $20/ hour 

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: No
