Looking for a highly motivated Senior Program Manager with well-rounded experience to join New York Life’s operating team.  The Senior Program Manager will drive all project management activities for our Cross Channel Strategy & Business Development business unit. This will include execution of multiple initiatives  supporting the development of new offerings and programs integrating group and strategic partner channels with our retail agent and advisor business.

 

The highly talented individual will work across business units to lead a cross-functional team to drive the planning, implementation, and deployment of the cross channel prospecting build out. The candidate should have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

 

The candidate will be expected to provide consistent and strong management while driving program and project priorities, collaborating with the business leader to determine appropriate trade-offs to optimize delivery, and clearly present goals, progress, and outcomes for the different stakeholders involved. You will be required to earn trust, be action oriented, dive deep into the issues and deliver results. 

The ideal candidate will apply a high energy level and business sense to work and communicate with key stakeholders across all business functions and be a passionate self-starter able to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively manages the execution of the program and sub projects, including managing scope, ensuring the quality of deliverables, project risk management and mitigation ensuring that material variations are proactively communicated to stakeholders
  • Provide direction and oversight to others (as project calls for).
  • Drive completion and management of the requirements, user acceptance testing and implementation of any potential cross functional sub projects, following the prescribed Project Management Delivery Life Cycle
  • Interact with Business are leaders and Business Analysts, conduct analysis and document business processes, functions, capabilities, requirements, etc. and acts as liaison with development team
  • Interfaces with stakeholders/executives and management to manage delivery expectations, provide status updates on projects and discuss concerns. Is accountable for ensuring resolution of concerns/issues
  • Forge partnerships with key platform relationships (internal/external) to drive business outcomes
  • Manage any potential vendor relationships
  • Identify and articulate the need for change and assessing the impact of the change, champion process and technology improvement efforts to deploy new capabilities as appropriate
  • Tasks as assigned

 

Required Skills / Qualification:

  • 7 + years of experience in supporting a high-performance, cross-functional projects
  • 3 + years experience with cross channel prospecting a major plus
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment, proactively innovating solutions that support the goals and desired outcomes that provide business value
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, the ability to work within all levels of the organization, and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while providing a positive image
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to project budget changing needs and shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of QA testing, change management, and test case generation
  • Ability to drive strategy and execution of quality assurance and user acceptance testing
  • Strong understanding of data and data relationships

 

Education - Degrees/Certificates:

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline.
  • PMP Certification a plus.
