Role Overview:
The New York Life Summer Internship experience offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer, you’ll participate in learning and development activities, gaining insight into our business and how our company functions. The summer internship program also includes additional social and networking opportunities where you will be able to expand your network with peers, mentors and senior leaders.
The Summer Internship opportunity is 10 weeks long, beginning Monday June 1st, 2026, and concluding Thursday, August 6, 2026. Interns will work on a hybrid schedule with Mondays and Fridays remotely.
Internship opportunities may be located in: New York, NY, White Plains, NY or Jersey City, NJ. Location is dependent upon the exact team you are aligned to; however, you will be able to specify your preferences on the job application.
What You’ll Do:
Join New York Life’s Business Analytics & Digital Solutions pathway and gain hands-on experience using data and technology to solve problems, optimize processes, and drive business insights. As an intern, you will explore how analytics, digital tools, and innovative solutions support decision-making across a Fortune 100 company.
Interns in this pathway are placed on a team within one of several departments, based on business need. You’ll have the opportunity to apply analytical skills, experiment with digital platforms, and collaborate with professionals on projects that combine data, strategy, and technology.
Projects may include:

Building dashboards and reports to track performance and measure business outcomes

Analyzing datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement

Supporting digital product enhancements through research, testing, and feedback

Assisting with automation or process improvement initiatives using emerging technologies

Developing presentations and visualizations that translate complex data into actionable insights
This pathway is ideal for students who are curious about how businesses use data to make decisions, enjoy working with technology, and want to build skills in analytics, problem-solving, and digital tools that are highly valued in today’s workplace.
What You’ll Bring:
Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
Preferred Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) a plus

Exposure to or interest in SQL, Python, or other programming languages a plus

Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and clear visualizations

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills

Curiosity about digital tools, automation, and technology-driven business solutions

Coursework or interest in business analytics, data science, information systems, or related fields
Additional Details:
- Internship applications will only be accepted through December 31st, 2025.
- Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis and notified by the end of January if selected to interview.
- Interns are expected to work for the duration of the 10-week internship.
