Role Overview
The New York Life Investments Management (NYLIM) Investments and Market Data Operations Summer Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors interested in Investment Operations or Market Data and Vendor Management within the asset management industry.
Throughout the summer, interns will participate in business overviews, networking opportunities, leadership presentations, training sessions, and collaborative intern programming while gaining firsthand exposure to the operational end of New York Life Investments Management.
This 10-week paid internship begins in June 2027 and is based in our New York City office. Interns will join one of the following teams:

Investment Services Operations

Market Data Operations
What You'll Do
Investment Services Operations Internship
-
Support the Enterprise Investment Services team by assisting with daily operational activities across investments, accounting and data warehouse support functions.

Perform reconciliations between systems, investigate exceptions and assist with issue reconciliation.

Contribute to project management activities by tracking deliverables, coordinating tasks, and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Assist with data analysis, reporting, and the preparations of business documentation using Microsoft Excel and other internal systems.

Collaborate with team members on special projects and gain exposure to the operational processes that support the investment lifecycle.
Market Data Operations Internship

Support the team with ongoing requests like new agreements, renewals and other inquiries which are logged and monitored for progress

Have hands-on experience working on real business projects like cost savings, process improvements, transparency tools and new data implementations to share progress and challenges while receiving firm-wide exposure

Organize and support key stakeholder meetings with vendors through material preparations and additional action items.

We're looking for students who are curious, collaborative, and eager to learn about financial services.
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high level of attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to collaborate across multiple teams

Interest in financial services and investments

Previous internship experience or leadership in campus organizations is a plus
Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited four-year college or university
-
Anticipated graduation between December 2027 and June 2028

Preferred majors include Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
-
Eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews will begin will begin no later than October 2026.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $27 / hour
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: No
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
