Analytics & Business Intelligence Senior Associate
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
Role Overview:
New York Life’s Product Solutions Analytics collaborates with colleagues and leaders across the organization to deliver insights and scalable solutions grounded in data. This role combines business analytics, reporting automation, and stakeholder decision support within the Retail Annuities business.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Associate to join the Retail Annuities Analytics team. In addition to delivering timely and automated reporting solutions, you will also influence the organization’s decision making through your data mining and analytics skills.
What You'll Do:
- Translate annuity sales and distribution data into insights that influence Retail Annuities leadership decisions
- Identify drivers of sales performance, growth opportunities, and areas of underperformance
- Design, automate, and maintain scalable reporting and dashboard solutions using tools such as Tableau and Databricks
- Reduce manual reporting effort through automation and improved data processes
- Partner with members of Strategy, Product, Service, Sales, and Marketing to identify their analytical needs and develop solutions to support them
- Collaborate with other analysts and data scientists within the Product Solutions Analytics team as well as other analytics departments to share best practices, leverage analytical techniques, and champion an organizational culture where data is central to decision making
- Stay current and display a growth mindset as the analytics landscape evolves via changes such as AI-enablement, new data tooling capabilities, and database architecture modernization
What You'll Bring:
- At least 3+ years of experience working in business intelligence or data analysis roles
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) with experience designing, automating, and maintaining dashboards
- Strong Excel skills for analysis, validation, and stakeholder-ready outputs
- Experience with large datasets, messy data, and ambiguous business questions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear narratives from data
- A curious mindset, a knack for problem solving, and the desire to leave no stone unturned when performing analysis
- A proactive self-starter with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently under limited supervision
Preferred
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis
- Experience with data engineering for the purposes of reporting automation, reducing ongoing maintenance, and democratizing data to other analysts and data scientists
- Knowledge of annuity products or industry dynamics

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $97,500-$139,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
