Assistant Portfolio Associate
Location Designation: Hybrid - 4 days per week
The General Account Portfolio Management team, within the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, is seeking to fill a junior level Portfolio Manager role to support all aspects of the portfolio management function. The role entails a blend of managing supporting processes around portfolio and data management and involvement in managing day-to-day activities of portfolios. It offers a unique opportunity to simultaneously learn the asset management business, various fixed income/alternative asset classes and liability driven investment management.
The individual will work closely with other team members on improving the current processes for managing the General Account portfolio. The individual is expected to rapidly advance to make longer term contributions on strategic and tactical portfolio decisions.
What You'll Do:
- Assist team members with ongoing relative value, portfolio sector, attribution, and risk analysis
- Maintain, enhance, and run key investment processes and models for the multi-sector General Account portfolio management team including relative value dashboard, cash and liquidity process, generation of orders for the desk, transaction monitoring, etc.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with investment guideline requirements
- Assist in preparation of business units and senior management presentations
- Assist in developing more robust process around data management and reporting on portfolio characteristics such as positioning, risk, and trades.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Solutions, Risk and ALM teams to further integrate models, investment strategies and analysis into the PM process.
What You'll Bring:
- An undergraduate degree is required preferably with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Math, Technology, Science, Accounting.
- 2-4 years of financial services experience at an insurance or investment management company
- Strong understanding of insurance products, liabilities and product pricing, asset allocation and/or fixed income markets preferred.
- Applicant should be intellectually curious, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a diverse team that collaborates across the organization.
- Fluent using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Programming in VBA, SQL and experience with large data sets would be a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
