New York Life is seeking an experienced graphic designer to support the Annuities Marketing Team with creative solutions, branding, and visual communications.

For the past decade, New York Life has been a leader in the annuity space, helping retirees build more secure retirements through the investment and income guarantees provided by our products. The Graphic Design Associate will be responsible for designing, updating, and creating marketing and sales materials for both print and digital uses. This candidate will have the opportunity to create and lead new project ideas and improve on previously established projects to enhance the visual identity and user experience of our content for our industry leading solutions.

Applicants must be creative and strategic, organized, and have experience balancing a multitude of projects concurrently. Ideal candidates will embrace teamwork, own a keen eye for detail, be willing to try and learn through trial and error, and be comfortable working independently to update, maintain, or create new design collateral.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for:
- Producing insurance marketing materials from concept to finished based on verbal or written brief
- Sourcing and research appropriate imagery and video for relevant projects
- Tailoring current marketing materials to our specific brand guidelines
- Developing and maintaining a full range of print based agent/advisor marketing, sales and prospecting materials (including product brochure, fact sheets, information sheets, posters, infographics, postcards, packaging etc.)
- Providing print specs and
working with external printers, suppliers and internal purchasing department
- Upholding corporate branding to ensure consistency with style guide
- Creating PowerPoint presentations and Word documents based on branded templates as well as providing advanced formatting assistance for high level ppt and word documents
- Managing offset and digital printing processes, and production methods
- Executing PDF workflow and production on both print and interactive formats
- Basic HTML and web graphics production

Required qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant art studio/in-house team design and print production experience
- Degree in design or visual communications or related
- Excellent knowledge in Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Proficient knowledge in Adobe Premier Pro or video editing experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word and ability to quickly and consistently produce or format presentation and marketing documents to tight deadlines
- Experience developing and using templates within the Microsoft Office environment
- Excellent organizational skills and key eye for detail and consistency
- Clean project and file management
- Strong creative vision and a good eye for layout and visual hierarchy
- Ability to brainstorm, present ideas via storyboards, mockups, etc., and apply creative solutions to established business problems or needs
- Problem-solver and self-starter which able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly adaptable, willing to try and learn through trial and error
- Able to take and receive feedback and adjust accordingly or explain your reasoning
- Attention to detail- content can be technical so close attention to detail is critical

Desired qualifications:
- Experience in a finance or fast-paced communications department and business environment.
- Video production/design, motion graphics, GIF creation, animation, or experience with Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Animate, a plus
