The Associate Auditor position will assist with various phases of audits including planning, scoping, control assessment, test design and execution, and reporting.  Audit assignments will include operational, compliance, and investment audits in the company's Home Office, field offices, and subsidiaries in the U.S. and international locations.  The position is based in the company’s headquarters in New York City and will report directly to the Corporate Vice President managing the Insurance and Agency audit team. 


  • Assist with the planning of the audit
  • Attend meetings with clients to gain an understanding of their business processes and related risks and controls
  • Document the understanding of processes in flowcharts and narratives
  • Design audit tests to evaluate controls over key risks
  • Document any observations and issues that arise from audit tests and follow-up with the client
  • Document all audit work and conclusions in automated work papers
  • Accountable for meeting deliverables and adhering to departmental and professional standards
  • Assist with the performance of advisory services when needed


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • At least one year of audit experience; any related experience in compliance, risk management or financial services will be considered
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel (approximately 10% - 20% domestic and international travel in addition to occasional travel to offices in the tri-state area)
  • Currently holds or willing to pursue a professional audit certification such as Certified Internal Auditor
  • Familiarity with agile audit methodology a plus
