A full-time position that provides support for Mortgage Loan and Real Estate Accounting Division’s cash management & treasury processes, as well as perform certain accounting system tracking/reporting functions within New York Life Real Estate Investors (“NYL REI”). NYL REI is the real estate investment management division of New York Life Investments and manages a portfolio which includes both mortgage loans and real estate equities.



Perform operational functions with heavy reliance on banking supporting both the general account and third party funds. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):


Cash Management/Treasury Support:

• Execute a high volume of electronic cash transfers in connection with purchase, sale and operation of investment properties, mortgage loans and investor transactions, including updates to all internal


• Oversee and process cash receipts into accounting systems and confirm activity completeness

• Verify that all requests have documentation that follows procedures/controls (i.e. delegation of

authority, etc.)

• Vendor Management

• Process tax payments as required

• Maintain accounts payable log and processing

• Develop and maintain policies and procedures governing all aspects of cash management

• Monitor bank fees and develop and execute strategies to minimize banking costs, increase efficiencies and safeguard assets

• Be involved alongside Cash Management Team Lead to maintain existing banking relationships and develop new relationships

• Support NYL REI team by trouble shooting issues and finding resolutions to cash related matters

• Ad hoc requests/additional as needed


Process Support:

• Data entry input

• Oversee a portfolio of investments (i.e. residential loans and limited partnerships) and

update activity/reporting.

• Assist with special projects/research work/ad hoc reporting

• Execute assignments according to company/department’s procedures, controls, and systems


Knowledge and Skills:

• The ideal candidate is comfortable with technology

• Must have high proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Detail orientation and accuracy in execution

• Extremely organized multi-tasker and strong time management skills

• Excellent people management skills

• Strong knowledge of cash management processes, controls and banking systems is a plus

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to proactively problem-solve and monitor progress for multiple projects

• Ideal candidate is self-starter and has good listening skills

• Team player who works well both independently and in a team environment

• Candidate must possess a strong willingness to learn various new processes and systems

• Prior experience working within a Cash Management/Treasury Team a plus

• Strong desire to develop new skills and utilize multiple software programs to include SS&C’s Precision Loan Management, Yardi, and internally developed cash management software

• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but will consider other degrees concentrated in business or applicable relative experience
