Team Description:

The Organizational Effectiveness team at New York Life is responsible for carrying out individual, group, and organization-level assessment activities in support of HR talent management priorities and business talent requirements. Working within the Talent Management function, this group uses archival data analysis, survey, and interview techniques to support New York Life’s talent initiatives. In addition, Organizational Effectiveness works with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and other HR Centers of Excellence to execute core enterprise-wide talent processes such as performance management, succession planning, talent reviews, and organization-wide surveys. The group also provides consultative support to the company’s business units and functions on customized talent planning projects.

Role Overview: 

  • The Associate, Organizational Effectiveness role will support the OE team by contributing to core talent management and diversity reporting efforts, ensuring NYL’s compliance with OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) guidelines, leading the company’s submissions on key corporate recognition efforts, and ensuring accuracy and validity of core talent management/diversity data in the company’s HRIS system.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage the OFCCP reporting process in partnership with NYL’s contracted labor and employment firm
  • Lead New York Life submissions to talent management and diversity-related corporate recognition and benchmarking surveys, soliciting and collating responses from various functional areas within the HR and Corporate Affairs departments
  • Analyze and prepare core talent management reports (e.g., diversity, learning, performance, etc.) and executive presentation materials, translating data into actionable findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with Operations function to maintain up-to-date employee participation in core development and diversity-related programs with HR talent management system
  • Support the administration of individual and group-level surveys and assessments/psychometric tools
  • Support special projects as assigned


Required Education, Experience, and Other Characteristics:

  • BA/BS degree from a four-year accredited university
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in project management roles involving the coordination of responses from various stakeholders
  • Proficiency using data analysis/visualization software; Excel and Tableau preferred
  • Foundations in quantitative analysis and basic statistical concepts (e.g., means, standard deviations, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, with the ability to identify trends/implications in data and convey findings in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Strong organization skills and the ability build and adhere to project plans
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simulLItaneously
  • Experience with OFCCP compliance reporting or knowledge of federal employment laws and regulations is preferred
