Associate - Salesforce Developer Engineer
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
As a Salesforce Developer Engineer, you will be in charge of developing, configuring, customizing, and deploying applications on the Salesforce platform to meet complex business requirements. You’ll collaborate with cross-tech teams and business teams to drive the successful delivery of business solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role demands strong technical expertise, programming, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Build solutions on the Salesforce Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud platforms as part of a larger Salesforce development team
- Work with team engineer leads, architects, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
- Ensure applications and components are optimized for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop reusable components on the Salesforce Platform.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and debugging to deliver robust and defect-free solutions.
- Develop into an internal NYL SME for the applications you support in your value stream: acting as technical point SME for capabilities that your technology has enabled.
- Develop integrations between the Salesforce platform and all the necessary data, solutions, and services endpoints needed.
- Partner with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to refine and analyze the backlog and drive the technical delivery of features and user stories into working software (and specifications).
- Stay current with the latest technology including but not limited to Salesforce technologies.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in daily standup calls, sprint planning and Production Increment (PI) planning sessions.
- Actively collaborate with and align to information, data, security and infrastructure strategies.
- Partners with Business stakeholders and to review and understand business requirements.
- Conducts complete assessments of complex business problems, including those involving multiple systems, customers, platforms, and technologies.
- Proposes technology solutions within areas of the team’s development.
- Stays current on NYL architectural standards.
- Identifies and suggests technical and architectural improvements in current systems.
- Supports the project through the entire software development lifecycle from initial kickoff to production deployment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- 0-3 years professional experience as a software engineer, programmer, or similar role.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Can work independently to solve complex technical issues, unit test, and debug.
- Hunger for continuous learning of new technologies, methodologies, and ways to solve problems.
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, performance tuning, and report development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $60,000-$102,500
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
