Associate - Statutory Accounting & Reporting

 

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week 

 

 

 

Corporate Controllers Accounting Operations and Reporting – Associate (PF2)

 

Role Overview:

The position will be a member of the Accounting and Controllership – Statutory Accounting and Reporting Division and will play a key role in supporting statutory financial reporting and regulatory compliance for all Insurance Legal Entities (6 total), with a strong focus on operational excellence, process optimization, data governance, and the adoption of Generative AI and intelligent automation capabilities. This role will partner across Accounting, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and external service providers to enhance reporting efficiency, strengthen controls, modernize workflows, and support strategic transformation initiatives within the statutory reporting environment.

 

What You'll Do:

• Assist in the coordination and compilation of the annual and quarterly NAIC statements over 6 insurance legal entities

• Assist in the coordination and compilation of the annual Financial Statement Auditeds over 6 insurance legal entities

• Assist in ensuring new NAIC and State regulatory reporting requirements are met

• Work directly with State Regulators in adherence to financial reporting requirements and financial variance inquires

• Manage offshore areas performance over production of key Statutory Annual/Quarterly statements schedules

• Create and own variance analysis over key Statutory Annual/Quarterly statements schedules

 

Process Improvement & Transformation Responsibilities

· Identify, design, and implement process improvement initiatives focused on automation, standardization, efficiency gains, and reduction of manual reporting activities.

· Leverage Generative AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to streamline documentation, reporting workflows, reconciliations, regulatory research, variance analysis, and operational processes.

· Evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled solutions, workflow automation, and advanced analytics into statutory accounting and reporting processes.

· Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge repositories to improve scalability and operational resiliency.

· Partner with technology and transformation teams to support digital finance initiatives, reporting modernization, and intelligent automation strategies.

· Utilize data analytics and visualization tools to enhance reporting insights, operational monitoring, and management reporting capabilities.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve control effectiveness and reporting cycle efficiency.

· Assist in identifying emerging regulatory, technology, and industry trends impacting statutory accounting, controllership, and financial reporting functions.

 

What You'll Bring:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· 1–4 years of accounting, financial reporting, controllership, audit, or regulatory reporting experience

· Strong financial statement analysis and problem-solving skills

· Working knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP) preferred

· Experience working with General Ledger systems (SAP preferred) and financial reporting platforms

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Workiva Wdesk

· Experience using Generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude) and applying them to accounting, reporting, process automation, and operational efficiency initiatives

· Familiarity with automation, data analytics, workflow optimization, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred

· Continuous Improvement and innovation mindset with demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements

· Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced regulatory reporting environment

· Strong attention to detail with focus on governance, controls and accuracy.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $65,000-$92,500 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
