Role Summary

The Senior Associate will play a critical role in managing, governing, and driving adoption of the New York Life brand strategy, visual expression, and verbal identity across all touch points to ensure a cohesive and engaged experience for consumers, clients, and employees. The Senior Associate will serve as an in-house brand expert, leading cross-functional teams and external advertising agencies to ensure effective brand execution, increased consumer awareness, and the delivery of business objectives. This individual will also be responsible for managing the company store, which entails interfacing with our external partner as well as internal customers, and providing the team with regular recaps of sales, trends, and progress observed. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s brand standards and ensure they are always up to date and accessible to stakeholders
  • Strategize, plan, and execute marketing designs and activities in collaboration with external agency partners and internal designers to establish and maintain brand presence in the insurance industry
  • Generate and develop visual and creative brand, working in collaboration with other members of the Marketing team and design leaders
  • Educate internal stakeholders, including all Marketers, on the brand visual expression and verbal identity
  • Develop and maintain key relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Serve as in-house expert in brand voice and naming
  • Support communication needs for the Brand Team by working closely with our Internal Communications partners and by being the main point of contact for brand related project requests
  • Responsible for partnering with compliance on brand related materials and inquiries
  • Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of current tactics and make recommendations for improvement
  • Support the Marketing team with ad-hoc projects, reporting, and analysis
  • Assist in the management of the company’s trademarks by participating in regular check-ins with the Office of the General Counsel and identified business areas
  • Ensure all estimates/invoices for brand related expenses are signed off on/paid in a timely manner

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of marketing experience specializing in brand marketing and advertisement through internal and external channels
  • Previous branding experience, ideally in a creative/digital agency environment
