New York Life is seeking a highly-talented Business Delivery Lead for Business Solutions. The Business Solutions team is responsible for serving the small business market. Through New York Life’s career agents, we provide employee benefits products, as well as strategies for business owners to protect their businesses.

 

The Business Delivery Lead is responsible for developing a technology roadmap in alignment with the Business Solutions five-year strategy and Foundational Business Blueprint. The Business Solutions Lead will partner with New York Life technology teams to execute against the roadmap, digitize our business processes, and create a seamless agent and customer experience. This individual will work with colleagues at all levels across functional lines (e.g., enterprise technology, product, underwriting, service, finance, value stream leads) as well as New York Life’s partners (e.g., third-party administrators, technology vendors) on a wide range of activities. 

 

This is a hybrid role working in the Home Office on Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays and remote on Mondays/Fridays.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains a business-aligned technology strategy based on identified agent and customer needs.
  • Defines inputs to Foundational Business value stream multi-year roadmap and estimates the associated value of recommended solutions.
  • Acts as the business lead for all Business Solutions technology projects and oversees execution of deliverables, including managing day-to-day activities, risks, issues, and impacts.
  • Acts as product manager for existing Business Solutions tools.
  • Maintains Business Solutions technology budget; provides IT annual planning and budget inputs.
  • Collaborates across business, technology, and value stream teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Oversees multiple timelines and resolves resource conflicts across projects; manages cross-organizational dependencies while ensuring timely deliverables and quality results.
  • Develops strategies to drive adoption of technology by agents and end customers and regularly reports adoption and outcome metrics.
  • Supports adoption of an agile delivery model; coaches and mentors non-agile/scrum team members and business partners.

 

Essential Requirements and Experience:

  • In-depth expertise and proven track record in IT program management and agile delivery.
  • Ability to lead teams to achieve desired strategic, project, and program outcomes.
  • Ability to successfully build strong partnerships, working both independently and as a collaborative team player working across organizations and with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly polished communicator (written and verbal) who can effectively build consensus across teams and present at executive level.
  • Highly flexible and adaptive to changing priorities; able to manage multiple simultaneous commitments on time, on budget, and with quality.
  • Excellent analytical skills, independent thinking, and ability to exercise prudent judgment; ability to identify problems, issues, and risks, and implement solutions before they impact project and program timelines.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously, meet demanding deadlines, and communicate status to stakeholders.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Technology Delivery & Program Management.
  • Insurance/Finance Industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of agile delivery practices and proven experience.
  • Knowledge of SDLC including the end-to-end technology delivery process.

 

 

Salary range: $132,500-$197,500 

 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

 

Sales bonus eligible: No
