Job Function & Key Responsibilities:

 

As a Business Development Associate you will be a valuable member of the New York Life Investment Management U.S. Retail Sales team. You will be exposed to on-the-job training within a fast-paced sales environment. NYLIM will sponsor you to acquire your FINRA series 7 and 63 licenses within your first 3 months of employment, allowing for significant internal growth.

 

As a Business Development Associate, you are responsible for providing support to the internal / external sales team and responsibilities mainly revolve around prospecting advisors within multiple territories. This role serves as a crucial part of the sales process as growing our client base is paramount to reaching our sales goals. You will work closely with the investment management sales team and relationship managers to support a high volume of requests in support of the New York Life / Mainstay Investment solutions (mutual funds, EFT’s private investments) and build/expand relationships with predetermined prospects/clients. This role provides an excellent entry point for individuals looking for a sales career in Investment/Asset management.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Desire to pursue a role in sales (client facing)
    • Experience in a sales environment preferred
  • Interest and passion for capital markets, asset management and investment solutions
  • Strong relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and superior organization skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to consistently have high volume of proactive phone activity
  • Able to thrive in a high-energy environment
  • Self-starter/self-motivated
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email/calendars)
  • Strategic thinker and strong work ethic.
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking is a huge plus
     
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required within 3 months of start date.
