This role will be responsible for development, production and technology coordination for the company’s proprietary asset projection system.  The role would need to coordinate effectively with stakeholders in investment, actuarial and risk management departments on a regular basis. The role would also gain exposure to modeling and projection of different types of investments in the company’s general account as well as investment and hedging strategies.      

 

Description

 

  • Build, maintain, and enhance asset projection models and capabilities
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across the company and deliver timely production support and output and ad hoc analysis
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders on their business needs and model developers on model enhancements  
  • Enhance production processes with better effectiveness, model governance, and documentation
  • Perform model testing on all asset algorithms developed in the asset projection system   
  • Assist in formulating investment and hedging strategies in the asset projection system
  • Partner with investment accounting and investment operation to understand various asset data and system flow  
  • Conduct research on prepayment and structured assets models to support structured product modeling   

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • FSA or ASA working toward FSA designation in the Society of Actuaries
  • Strong programming skills in objected oriented programming such as C++ / VB.Net / C# / Python
  • Database Experience is a strong plus
  • Knowledge in quantitative finance is a plus
  • Ability to think strategically about ALM and investment strategy
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and constantly think about improvement  
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Experience working in documentation of applications and tools a plus.
  • Effective time management and project coordination skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong business partnering skills
