Duties: Responsible for development, production, and technology coordination for the company’s proprietary asset projection system. Builds, maintains, and enhances asset projection models and capabilities. Coordinates with stakeholders across the company and delivers timely production support, output, and ad hoc analysis. Serves as a liaison between stakeholders concerning their business needs and model Developers concerning model enhancement, and enhances production processes to ensure effectiveness, model governance, and documentation. Performs model testing on all asset algorithms developed in the asset projection system and assists in formulating investment and hedging strategies in the asset projection system. Partners with Investment Accounting and Investment Operation to understand asset data and system flow. Conducts research on prepayment and structured asset models to support structured product modeling.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of experience providing actuarial services for life insurance or annuity products

 

Or, in the alternative:

 

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 5 years of experience providing actuarial services for life insurance or annuity products

 

Required Skills & Certifications:

 

  • Must possess Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation or foreign equivalent

 

Experience must include 1 year in each of the following skills:

  1. Leveraging multiple asset classes (fixed income, derivatives, and equities) and modeling them to support cash flow testing, US GAAP loss recognition testing, and embedded value;
  2. Generating multiple asset liability management (ALM) metrics for a large life insurance company and performing attribution analysis to explain the movement;
  3. Designing, implementing, and reviewing actuarial models for multiple life insurance and annuity products to support regulatory affairs and ALM requirements;
  4. Providing technical support for asset model system migration, including architectural design, programming, data investigation, and testing; and,
  5. Leading development efforts and maintaining an asset data repository to host all information in a centralized database.
