New York Life’s Corporate Communications department is seeking an Internal Communications Business Partner to primarily serve our Talent Management organization, including our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Center for Awareness and Advocacy, within Human ResourcesuHumH. . . This is a unique opportunity to develop internal communication strategies that support and advance the company’s strong commitment to DE&I and talent development. The ideal candidate for this role is strategic and client-focused with outstanding interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop comprehensive internal communication strategies and seamlessly execute tactics that amplify our robust DE&I and talent development efforts, programming, and resources across the enterprise.
  • Bring our efforts in these critical areas to life through creative and impactful story-telling, leveraging a range of communication vehicles (i.e., online, video, meetings and events, and print).
  • Build trust with leaders and provide strategic counsel on messaging and communication best practices.
  • Manage editorial and writing projects—including drafting executive emails and speaking points, video scripts, meeting presentations, and intranet content.
  • Provide internal communication support to other client areas as needed and in partnership with team leader (e.g., Service, Wealth Management).
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the enterprise and Human Resources as well as within Corporate Communications, including External Communications, Multi-Media and Design, Editorial and Content Strategy, Digital Workplace, and Employee Social Engagement.
  • Measure the effectiveness of strategies and tactics, leveraging learnings and delivering insights to continually improve our communications.
  • Execute with excellence, creating thoughtful plans and delivering work on time and within budget.

 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • 7+ years of communications experience (employee communications, external/public relations, or marketing communications)
  • Experience with DE&I communications preferred
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience creating content for email, online, in-person and virtual meetings, and print to support strategic communications
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of employees across an organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure
  • Collaborative team player with successful experience leading cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Salary range: $90,000-$135,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
