The Corporate Responsibility Department of New York Life is seeking a junior level individual for an entry level opportunity providing program support for egangement initiatives and grant management. 

 

Primary Responsibilties 

  • Support grant management progress 
    • Conduct and compile basic research and due diligence on potential and/or current grantees
    • Compile progress reports and follow up on grantees
    • Support Aim High and Grief Reach RFPs/programs
  • Admin support for the team including
    • Creation of reports, presentations and charts as needed
    • Follow-up on grant applications
    • Provide support to workforce as it relates to our engagement programs:  VfG, matching gift,  giving campaign, GSSI, CIG and more
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of the company store
    • Support the bereavement material ordering site
    • Assist with VfG/Foundation merchandise
  • Support the team in the coordination of all special initiatives aligned to current year’s strategy

 

Skills and Experience 

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, community relations, public relations, business marketing or equivalent subject area preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including social media platforms and maintaining intranet sites. Graphic design/video is a plus.  Ability to communicate across a variety of audiences and leadership levels.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced features of Outlook and the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.  
  • Experience with databases including with creating reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently; shifting priorities; self-organized and efficient. Proactively initiates changes to improve work processes.
  • Strong collaboration and innovation skills and understand how to be a contributing member of a small team. 
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills; approaches challenges with creativity, resourcefulness, sound judgment, and ability to develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Energetic and action-oriented individual with strong organizational skills. 
  • Fast learner
