New York Life is hiring a Corporate Vice President, Financial Wellness Education and Training, to lead educational content and training development and delivery for key stakeholders including agency, employers and employees, and the general public.


The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of the marketplace, prior experience leading content development, training and/or market positioning in the insurance, financial services and/or financial wellness space. He/She/They will also have a successful track record identifying and translating needs into benefits and leaning into stakeholder-specific implications to help drive awareness, engagement and adoption.


Role Description:


Strategic execution:

  • Lead financial wellness content development strategy; co-create educational content (e.g., webinars, seminars and/or workshops); partner to develop and deliver digital and analog content, tools and resources; ensure coordination of content development and deployment across internal and external stakeholders
  • Build agent training program and content in partnership with Agency, Learning & Development, Product and Marketing; partner to serve as a player-coach to accelerate successful deployment through distribution to the marketplace
  • Evaluate and manage vendors; serve as the primary point of contact
  • Co-develop success metrics, reporting and measurement of outcomes
  • Work with a small, dynamic and high-performing team to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization effectively

  • Is a strong connector (people, concepts, applications); able to translate complex concepts simply and distill key features into benefits that bring “what’s in it for me” to life for an array of stakeholders
  • Is a demonstrated systems thinker; able to quickly think through implications and adapt positioning for a wide array of users and audiences
  • Takes a portfolio view of content to ensure consistency in the way we talk about and position products, services and solutions across medium/channel
  • Is able to toggle between strategic considerations and tactical implications, helping to deliver the approach and execute to create specific deliverables.


Leadership support:

  • Bridge across internal stakeholders (Agency, Marketing, Learning & Development, Product, etc.) and external partners (vendors) to develop a holistic approach to educational content/resources and training development and deployment
  • Drive content development and implement feedback mechanisms for tracking, reporting and enhancements
  • Serve as an SME on NYL’s financial wellness offer with an emphasis on how we’re improving individual and organizational financial health


You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in the group benefits and/or benefits consulting space (financial services, consulting experience a strong plus)
  • 5+ years of positioning, content development and/or training in the group benefits space (financial services or financial wellness experience a strong plus)
  • Exceptional communications and presentation skills (content development, delivery, public speaking); ability to interact successfully with leaders at all levels
  • Agile, self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines while navigating the ambiguity of a dynamic work environment
  • Collaborative work style and leadership presence coupled with the ability to effectively interact and earn the trust of colleagues and senior management across the organization
