Role Overview

 

The NYLIFE Securities Business Analytics Corporate Vice President acts as a source of information and insights for the NYLIFE Securities business and key stakeholders across Wealth Management Solutions (WMS), the Foundational Business, and New York Life. This role is responsible for regular reporting, data requests, and strategic and ad hoc analyses that allow partners from across the business to understand strategic trends and make data-driven decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Directly supports the Head of NYLIFE Securities with various strategic projects and reporting needs in preparation for various meetings and governance forums (including the Board of Directors, weekly leadership meetings, WMS Advisory Council, Solutions Council, Operating Council, etc.)

 

  • Creates and owns business intelligence and KPI/strategic metrics reporting through regular reports, dynamic dashboards, etc. for NYLIFE Securities, WMS Leadership and other NYL stakeholders. Data may include sales and assets under management data, advisor productivity data, and product-level data from both internal and external sources  

 

  • Sources and synthesizes data for use by various teams including Finance, Product Development and Management, Product Marketing, and other stakeholder groups in support of these teams’ efforts. This includes the timely, efficient delivery of ad hoc data requests to drive decisions and aid in the planning process. 

 

  • Partners with Data, Technology, and/or Finance teams to acquire data from New York Life databases and other data source and uses tools like Excel or Tableau to synthesize and create visualizations to communicate key information and insights

 

  • Supports the identification and analysis of emerging trends and strategic opportunities using straightforward data analysis, using both internal and external data and research

 

  • Conduct periodic industry and competitive research including analysis of peer companies in the wealth management industry to support of the overall business strategy

 

 Skills and Experience:

 

  • 5+ years in a related business intelligence, reporting, data analysis, or related role
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Working familiarity with financial services / wealth management industry and experience with investment product solutions (managed accounts, mutual funds, retirement plans, etc.)
  • Experience working in broker-dealer, and/or RIA business model a plus
  • Proven ability to understand and interpret business challenges and apply data and analytics to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Strong written communication skills, needed to summarize and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Proven efficiency, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to work independently and across various teams in a matrix reporting environment

Salary range: $115,000-$175,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
