Corporate Vice President - AI Product Manager
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
This role serves as a senior Product Manager within the AI & Data (AI&D) product management organization, accountable for shaping product strategy, defining functional and technical requirements, managing the product roadmap, and executing the backlog across AI and data initiatives — with a particular focus on agentic systems, AI platforms, and AI governance. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams across data engineering, data governance, data science, analytics, and technology, as well as business stakeholders across New York Life. You will also be expected to bring structure to ambiguous, ill-defined problems and translate them into clear, executable product directions.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience delivering AI, data, and analytics products — ideally within financial services — along with strong judgment, technical fluency, and a proven ability to influence engineering partners and present effectively to senior leadership in a complex, regulated, and matrixed environment.
What You'll Do:
- Own the strategy, roadmap, backlog, and requirements for AI & Data products and foundational initiatives, with emphasis on agentic AI systems, AI platforms, and AI governance frameworks
- Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous, ill-defined problem spaces — defining the problem, framing the solution, and aligning stakeholders around a path forward
- Translate complex business problems into clear product strategies, functional requirements, and user stories
- Partner with and influence engineering, AI&D, technology, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a scaled Agile environment
- Prioritize initiatives to maximize business value and alignment with enterprise strategy
- Serve as a key communicator and advocate for AI & Data products and capabilities across stakeholders, including regular presentations to senior leadership and executive audiences
- Own end-to-end solution delivery — from problem definition through production rollout and adoption
- Define success metrics and track outcomes including adoption, ROI, and business impact
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5-6+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, or business-facing product development, with a clear track record of increasing scope and ownership
- Hands-on experience building and scaling agentic AI systems in a production environment
- Experience building or maintaining AI platforms and/or AI governance systems (e.g., model risk management, evaluation frameworks, responsible AI controls, platform-level guardrails)
- Demonstrated ability to influence engineering leads and partners without direct authority — driving technical decisions, trade-offs, and roadmap alignment
- Proven experience presenting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders, including translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Experience owning solutions end-to-end and bringing structure to murky, ill-defined problems
- Strong familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, agentic frameworks, and modern data platforms
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and lead Agile delivery processes
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex, regulated environments
- Self-starter comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving initiatives to completion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering AI products end-to-end, from concept through production at enterprise scale
- Familiarity with AI governance, model evaluation, A/B testing, MLOps practices, and emerging standards like MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- Experience in insurance, asset management, or wealth management
- Fluency with Agile ceremonies, Sprint planning, and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
