Corporate Vice President - Development Lead - Design to Dev

 

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week 

 

 

As part of Technology at New York Life, you’ll shape the next generation of digital experience delivery by leading the technical design, engineering strategy, and implementation of the new Design-to-Dev automation platform. This platform will streamline how creative assets, UX/UI designs, and content specifications move through the development lifecycle—driving efficiency, accuracy, and speed across marketing and digital product teams.

In this leadership role, you will partner with designers, architects, marketing technologists, automation engineers, and development squads to define and build an end-to-end solution that transforms design artifacts into production-ready digital experiences. You will drive technical decision-making, integrate modern frameworks, and ensure seamless alignment across the Adobe Experience Cloud ecosystem, AWS-based front-end applications, and enterprise integration platforms.

Your work will accelerate New York Life’s digital marketing capabilities, enhancing personalization, consistency, and time-to-market across the Client Prospecting value stream.

 

What You’ll Do:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the vision, architecture, and technical roadmap for the Design-to-Dev automation platform.
  • Define standards for how design assets (Figma, UX specs, creative components) translate into scalable front-end and AEM-ready code.
  • Partner with marketing, design, and business stakeholders to align automation capabilities to campaign and content operations needs.
  • Guide engineering teams, fostering innovation, high-quality delivery, and continuous improvement.

Platform Architecture & Engineering Execution

  • Architect and develop platform capabilities that convert design inputs into reusable UI components across React, Angular, Flutter, and HTML/CSS environments.
  • Oversee technical design and delivery across key solution components:
    • AWS + React applications
    • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Sites/Assets
  • Ensure platforms support multi-brand, multi-channel, and multi-device digital marketing experiences.

Governance, Quality, and Delivery Excellence

  • Establish engineering guardrails, including accessibility, performance, security, and code-generation best practices.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams within the ART to improve predictability, velocity, and cross-team alignment.
  • Manage vendor partnerships and evaluate emerging tools that enhance design automation, prototyping, or component orchestration.

 

What You’ll Bring:

Technical Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience designing and delivering front-end architectures using React, Angular, Flutter, and modern HTML/CSS.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS-based front-end application frameworks and cloud-native deployment practices.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and its role within integrated digital experience ecosystems.
  • Proficiency with design-to-development workflows, design system creation, component libraries, and tooling integrations (e.g., Figma APIs, code generation frameworks).
  • Demonstrated ability to architect automation solutions that transform UX/design assets into consumable code.
  • Adobe Certifications such as Adobe Certified Expert (AEM Sites Developer, DevOps Engineer, Architect) or Certified React Developer is a plus.

Leadership & Delivery

  • Proven ability to manage complex technical programs and guide engineering teams.
  • Ability to translate detailed design artifacts into structured, scalable engineering solutions.
  • Experience working within SAFe or Agile frameworks and collaborating across ARTs or cross-functional marketing technology teams.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities to bridge design, engineering, and business perspectives.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on stakeholder alignment, solution clarity, and measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive structure, standards, and repeatable processes.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $147,500-$211,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
