Corporate Vice President - Domain Architect
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
We are currently seeking a Domain Architect, Corporate Vice President to stand up and lead our architecture practice within the Client Prospecting Value Stream. The Value Stream is one of 6 within the New York Life’s foundational business and consists of 60 applications with a portfolio size of $40M. In addition to being the lead architect for the Value Stream, the role will also have broader responsibility of governing the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Salesforce, social media applications, and other MarTech tools.
The role will report into the VP of Technology - Value stream Tech Lead and will require to closely partner with the VS delivery leads, other technology teams and business partners. The role requires a strong technical acumen coupled with leadership skills to be able to set the architecture vision and strategy for the Value Stream including but not limited to understanding the technical landscape and system interactions, security frameworks and role sharing models, integrations, automations, knowledge of the connected app ecosystem, data models and governance.
What You’ll Do:
MarTech Architecture Strategy & Domain Leadership
- Set the architecture vision, strategy, and direction for the MarTech domain, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and broader digital transformation goals.
- Maintain alignment across the domain on target-state MarTech ecosystem architecture, associated KPIs, architectural metrics, and financial impacts of architectural decisions.
- Define and govern core platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Salesforce, CDPs, personalization engines, and marketing automation tools.
- Identify opportunities to enhance capability maturity, consolidate platforms, simplify legacy technology, and modernize the overall MarTech ecosystem.
- Develop integrated, multi-year Business/Data/Technology roadmaps that support marketing capabilities, ecosystem modernization, scalability, and operational excellence.
Solution Architecture & Technical Design
- Design scalable, integrated MarTech solutions across platforms including AEM, Salesforce, CDPs, analytics tools, and custom/legacy applications.
- Ensure adherence to architectural standards, design patterns, integration requirements, and enterprise policies.
- Lead or participate in complex discovery workshops and initiatives, guiding teams through identifying dependencies and designing end-to-end solutions.
- Provide conceptual and detailed solution architectures that support business goals, customer experience needs, and marketing activation use cases.
- Design solution architectures that integrate social media management, publishing, listening, and social advertising platforms with core MarTech components (CDP, CRM, analytics, AEM, Salesforce, and customer engagement platforms).
Platform Governance & Ecosystem Stewardship
- Govern shared MarTech platforms, ensuring standardization, security alignment, compliance, integration quality, and platform optimization across business units.
- Maintain an inventory of the MarTech technology stack, including architectural artifacts, documentation, system interactions, data flows, and cost implications.
- Represent the MarTech domain in architecture review boards, security and compliance forums, and enterprise governance committees.
- Oversee platform lifecycle management, including platform enhancements, usage guidelines, and stewardship of connected applications.
Collaboration, Alignment & Business Partnership
- Partner with product managers, product owners, marketing leaders, technology teams, and integration partners to align business goals with technical design.
- Work across business and technology levels to understand marketing strategies, capabilities, processes, and data needs to ensure end-to-end alignment.
- Provide gap analyses and investment recommendations reflecting current-state technology readiness versus future-state capability requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for marketing and technology stakeholders by establishing credibility early and consistently guiding decision-making.
Agile Delivery Enablement & Execution Support
- Embed architecture practices within agile delivery processes to ensure solutions adhere to design intent, meet quality expectations, and support roadmap execution.
- Reinforce a product mindset throughout the domain, prioritizing rapid delivery of value to customers, agents, and marketing operations.
- Provide architectural oversight during development cycles, ensuring alignment with roadmaps, frameworks, and cross-team dependencies.
Technology, Security & Ecosystem Expertise
- Apply deep expertise in modern digital ecosystems such as SaaS, PaaS, cloud infrastructure, APIs, microservices, mobile, event-driven architecture, and DevOps.
- Ensure designs comply with data governance, privacy regulations, consent frameworks, and security protocols, particularly across customer data and activation workflows.
- Guide teams in designing solutions that ensure scalability, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability of the MarTech stack.
- Apply expertise in integrating social media platforms and related adtech tools into the MarTech ecosystem, ensuring secure data flows, proper consent handling, and compliance with marketing governance policies.
What You’ll Bring:
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technical leadership roles.
- 5+ years of architecture experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- 5+ years of architecture experience with Salesforce (e.g., Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud).
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services or insurance industry (or similarly regulated environments).
- Demonstrated experience building, maturing, or leading an architecture practice, including hiring, coaching, and developing architects and technical leads.
- Strong background designing solutions across MarTech platforms, customer data systems, analytics platforms, and integration technologies.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in AEM, Salesforce, CDPs, analytics platforms, marketing automation systems, and related MarTech technologies.
- Strong knowledge of data models, customer identity, segmentation frameworks, activation workflows, and integration architectures (API-led, event-driven, batch).
- Experience with SaaS and low-code/no-code platforms, as well as cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with modern architectures such as SOA, microservices, mobile, SSO, API management, cybersecurity, and DevOps practices.
- Experience integrating and governing enterprise social media tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite) along with social advertising and engagement platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.).
Architecture, Delivery & Methodology Skills
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SAFe, Zachman, or equivalent).
- Deep experience with agile and lean methodologies, product operating models, and value-stream-oriented delivery.
- Ability to create and maintain architecture roadmaps, capability maps, blueprints, solution designs, conceptual diagrams, and architectural documentation.
- Skilled in evaluating technology options, conducting gap analyses, and recommending platform investment strategies.
Leadership & Communication
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of articulating architecture vision and influencing both technical and business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build credibility quickly and operate as a trusted partner to executives, product teams, and delivery leaders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a highly collaborative, team-oriented mindset aligned with modern product and engineering cultures.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $147,500-$211,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
