Job Summary
We are seeking a Corporate Vice President, Foundational Business (FB) Communications, to join our team. Reporting to the VP and head of FB Communications, this individual will be responsible for developing and advancing a number of strategic internal and external communications initiatives for the company’s Foundational Business, with a particular focus on supporting Value Stream senior executives and their leadership teams.
Role Responsibilities
- As a member of the Foundational Business Communications team, serve as a business partner to support both internal and external communications deliverables for a diverse set of businesses and leaders.
- Build communications plans and programs that advance corporate reputation and drive positive outcomes for New York Life’s Foundational Business; raise the overall profile of the Value Stream leaders and their major priorities among internal and external stakeholders, delivering both proactive and reactive support.
- Provide strategic advice and counsel, while overseeing or delivering a variety of important materials including leadership messages, press releases, intranet content, speaking points, video scripts, social media content, and presentations.
- Help develop and expand measurement best practices, including gathering and interpreting metrics to ensure communications projects deliver results – this includes analyzing intranet usage statistics, preparing and delivering employee pulse-surveys, and helping to manage earned and social media metrics.
- Leverage feedback, best practices, and expertise to provide best-in-class communications support, including the testing, learning and onboarding of new GenAI capabilities and Continuous Improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Communications, including Corporate Design, Editorial, Digital, Video/Meetings, Content Strategy, and Employee Social Engagement.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of corporate communications experience, preferably in a Fortune 500 company and/or communications agency.
- Expert and proactive client relationship manager, with experience providing advice and counsel to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of leadership, achievement, and excellence in a world-class organization.
- Collaborative team player with executive presence and successful experience participating in high-profile cross-functional projects.
- Ability to navigate a complex organization and operate within ambiguity is a must.
- Experience with change management and culture change initiatives.
- Proven track record managing people and developing effective teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with excellent writing, listening, presentation and communications skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field.
- Hybrid environment: Office Tuesday through Thursday, working from home Mondays and Fridays.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $137,500-$237,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
