Corporate Vice President - Portfolio Manager

 

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week 

 

 

Role Summary

This role supports the ETS portfolio by driving planning, prioritization, funding alignment, governance, and reporting across a broad set of technology initiatives. The position enables leadership to make informed decisions, maintain alignment to business priorities, and ensure consistent execution across the portfolio.

What You’ll Do:

Portfolio Planning & Execution

  • Support end-to-end management of the ETS portfolio, including demand intake, prioritization, funding, and execution tracking
  • Maintain visibility into a large technology budget and ensure alignment of investments to business priorities
  • Develop materials and analysis to support trade-off decisions across initiatives, platforms, and teams
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to gather updates, clarify priorities, and maintain alignment
  • Maintain a current view of portfolio activity, including proposed, in-flight, and completed initiatives
  • Support roadmap development by translating leadership direction into structured plans and milestones
  • Track key performance indicators, delivery progress, and outcomes to identify risks and inform next steps

Governance & Operating Rhythm

  • Coordinate portfolio governance routines and forums to enable clear decision-making and accountability
  • Manage the organization’s operating rhythm, including staff meetings, steering committees, and planning cycles
  • Provide regular reporting on portfolio health, including delivery status, financials, risks, and dependencies
  • Identify and highlight areas where funding, capacity, or sequencing adjustments are needed
  • Track cross-team dependencies and drive follow-up to ensure alignment and timely execution
  • Support strong financial discipline through consistent planning, reporting, and governance practices

Strategic Support

  • Partner with the CIO and leadership team to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans
  • Identify risks, gaps, and execution challenges early, and develop recommendations for leadership
  • Support annual and multi-year planning processes, including strategic planning, budgeting, and portfolio reviews
  • Coordinate across Technology, Product, Operations, Finance, and Risk teams to maintain alignment

Executive Communication & Alignment

  • Develop clear, concise materials for leadership updates, including presentations, dashboards, and decision documents
  • Ensure consistent communication of priorities, roadmap updates, and progress across the organization
  • Partner with stakeholders to tailor messaging for different audiences

Process Improvement & Operating Model

  • Support continuous improvement of the ETS operating model, planning processes, and ways of working
  • Standardize governance, reporting, and planning routines to improve transparency and consistency
  • Identify opportunities to improve execution speed, quality, and delivery discipline
  • Promote accountability, transparency, and data-driven decision-making across the portfolio

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology strategy, portfolio management, consulting, or strategic operations
  • Experience in a Chief of Staff, Strategy Lead, Portfolio Manager, or similar role supporting senior leadership
  • Strong understanding of Agile and product-based delivery models
  • Experience managing complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and teams
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex topics for executive audiences
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Proven ability to influence, coordinate, and drive outcomes across teams

Preferred

  • Experience in life insurance, annuities, or financial services
  • Experience supporting product operating models, portfolio funding, or large-scale transformation efforts
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), or Clarity

 

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $119,000-$170,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
