This Risk Policy & Governance Corporate Vice President will play a critical role on the Enterprise Risk Governance and Reporting team, leading operational risk governance and reporting. The Corporate Vice President will manage and refine the operational risk taxonomy and framework documents and help manage reporting for the Chief Risk Officer. This person will lead and manage updates to, and refinement of, the Enterprise Risk Dashboard, one of the main channels used to communicate top risks to senior management, the Board of Directors and the company’s primary regulator. This person will support the management of several senior management risk committees – including agenda development, working with presenters to ensure optimal and effective presentation material and messaging, and coordination with other committees to ensure risk topics are communicated and escalated effectively and timely. The Corporate Vice President will also support climate risk management from an operational risk perspective, including helping to coordinate climate risk activities across the company and review and analyze regulatory and industry activity.


• Manage and refine operational risk framework and taxonomy
• Manage governance of senior risk committees
• Lead and manage updates to, and refinement of, the enterprise risk dashboard which highlights the company’s top risks and is presented to senior management, the Board of Directors and the company’s primary regulator; refresh the dashboard at least semi-annually
• Further mature and operationalize operational risk appetite / tolerance, including developing and maintaining consistent enterprise risk appetite statements; provide framework for business level operational risk appetite statements
• Support regulatory and senior management reporting obligations of the Chief Risk Officer
• Assist with activities related to climate risk management, with an emphasis on climate risk’s impact on operational risks
• Support risk training and education regarding the enterprise risk framework working with other risk areas; assist with development and rollout of content
• Engage with industry groups, forums and related media to learn about leading risk management practices related to frameworks, governance and reporting
• Help promote a strong risk culture of integrity, transparency, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement


• Accomplished professional with 10+ years of experience in risk, control, governance, audit, compliance or consulting in an insurance company or financial institution
• Strong demonstrated leadership in the development and implementation of comprehensive operational risk frameworks and governance
• Demonstrable ability as a change agent, building and implementing new functions, processes, controls and disciplines through successful partnership across multiple functions and locations
• Knowledge of COSO, ISO, Basel, COBIT, NIST and other relevant industry frameworks and standards
• Ability to drive results and influence others
• Strong program/project management skills
• Excellent communications, leadership, presentation and writing skills along with excellent organization, analytical, and critical thinking skills

• Ability to think strategically and logically
• Ability to develop effective relationships across the company, at all levels
• Proactive self-starter with a strong work-ethic
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a broader team

• Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Bachelor’s degree required


Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in Operational Risk or Enterprise Risk
• Previous experience in Insurance industry
• Strong technical skills, including experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Access, Tableau preferred
• MBA, Master’s degree
