Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

Our New York Life culture has laid the foundation for over 180 years of commitment to our employees, agents, policy owners, and the communities where we live and work. Here you become a valued part of a welcoming, inclusive, and caring organization with a long-standing legacy in stability and growth. The strength revolves around our diversified, multi-dimensional business portfolio that goes beyond life insurance.

As a Fortune 100 company and industry leader, we provide an environment where you can explore your career ambitions, offering opportunities to tackle meaningful challenges and stretch your skills while balancing work and life priorities.  You will be part of an inclusive team guided by our belief to always be there for each other–providing the support and flexibility to grow and reach new heights while making an impact in the lives of others.

You are our future, and we commit to investing in you accordingly.

We are seeking a Senior M365 Copilot Engineer to lead the enablement, integration, and operationalization of Microsoft Copilot and AI-powered productivity tools across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist with deep expertise in M365 services and a passion for driving AI adoption at scale.

You will work closely with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure that Microsoft Copilot and related AI tools are deployed securely, efficiently, and in alignment with enterprise governance. Your focus will be on platform engineering, configuration, enablement, and user adoption—not on custom AI model development.

What You'll Do:

Copilot Enablement & Integration

  • Lead the enterprise-wide deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of Microsoft Copilot across Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other M365 applications.
  • Partner with business units to identify high impact use cases and develop tailored Copilot adoption strategies.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Copilot with existing workflows, including SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Viva.
  • Collaborate with AI developers, architects, and security teams to align Copilot implementations with enterprise architecture, compliance, and performance standards.

Microsoft 365 Engineering & Platform Ownership

  • Act as a senior engineer and technical authority for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Viva, and Power Platform.
  • Manage tenant-level configurations, feature rollouts, and service health for M365 and AI-integrated features.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing environments for both development and production use.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex M365 and Copilot-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Define and enforce governance policies for Copilot and M365 usage, including data access, retention, and user permissions.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and Microsoft best practices.
  • Support DevOps and lifecycle governance for both professional developers and citizen developers using Power Platform.

End-User Adoption & Enablement

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive enablement programs, including training sessions, onboarding materials, and self-service resources to accelerate Copilot and M365 adoption.
  • Lead internal campaigns, workshops, and community forums to promote awareness, share best practices, and drive user engagement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business units, helping them unlock productivity through AI-powered tools and M365 capabilities.
  • Monitor user feedback, adoption metrics, and satisfaction scores to continuously refine enablement strategies.

Monitoring, Optimization & Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor Copilot and M365 adoption, usage patterns, performance, and health.
  • Analyze telemetry and usage data to identify optimization opportunities, cost efficiencies, and areas for proactive support.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership on adoption trends, business impact, and platform ROI.

Strategic Planning & Roadmap Contribution

  • Stay current with Microsoft’s Copilot and M365 product roadmaps, preview features, and AI innovations.
  • Evaluate new releases and pilot features to assess enterprise readiness, value, and alignment with business goals.
  • Contribute to the development of the enterprise M365 and AI productivity roadmap, including capability planning, investment prioritization, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide feedback to Microsoft and internal product teams on feature gaps, integration needs, and enterprise use cases.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 engineering, with deep expertise in platform configuration, administration, and user enablement.
  • Proven experience deploying and managing Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of M365 architecture, governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Proficiency with Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Power Platform, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead enterprise-scale initiatives and drive adoption across diverse business units.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-600, MS-700, AZ-104, or equivalent).
  • Experience with enterprise AI tools such as ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
  • Experience supporting executive-level users and managing complex, enterprise-scale M365 environments.
