Corporate Vice President -ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Lead

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per quarter 

 

 

Role Overview: NYL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Lead to join our team. The CMDB Lead will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the CMDB within the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures the CMDB provides accurate, reliable data to support IT operations, incident resolution, vulnerability management, change management, and strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Do:

  • CMDB Strategy and Governance:
    • Define and implement the CMDB strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, cyber security requirements, and ITIL best practices.
    • Develop and enforce CMDB governance policies to maintain data integrity and compliance.
    • Establish processes to monitor and improve data quality, including automated audits, dashboards, and reporting.
    • Conduct a Configuration Change Board with key stakeholder to ensure governance and health of the CMDB.
  • Design and Architecture:
    • Oversee the design and architecture of the CMDB, including CI (Configuration Item) classes, relationships, and attributes.
    • Lead the implementation and configuration of ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and other CMDB-related modules.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate external data sources and systems with the CMDB.
  • Operational Support:
    • Ensure the CMDB supports IT operations, incident, problem, and change management processes plus security operations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve CMDB-related issues including integrations and data quality issues and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
    • Provide training and documentation to ensure CMDB usage aligns with organizational needs.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
    • Partner with IT, security, and business teams to understand requirements and ensure the CMDB supports operational and strategic goals.
    • Work with vendors and partners to implement and optimize CMDB-related tools and integrations.
    • Communicate CMDB health and maturity metrics to leadership.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow CMDB and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and frameworks.
  • Proven experience in CMDB design, implementation, and management.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and related modules.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM/Discovery.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with other IT management tools and platforms.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $125,000-$212,500 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
