The Third Party Risk Corporate Vice President is responsible for engaging with business units on the adoption and execution of the TPRM Policy and Standards. This includes managing a portfolio of business areas to support their effective oversight of third party risks across the third party lifecycle. This individual will work with the TPRM Management Team to develop strategies for effective business unit engagement and partner closely with other members of the Coverage Team.


• Promote the adoption of the TPRM program (process, framework, indicators…)
• Advise on contract language that may impact NYL’s ability to appropriately manage risk introduced by third-party services.
• Partner closely with Procurement and Supplier Management to enhance the third-party inventory by improving the lifecycle methodology, supporting processes and tool integration.
• Provide Second-Line oversight for compliance with the TPRM Program Policies and Standards by establishing a communication plan, facilitating training, and offering robust reporting and metrics.
• Plan, prioritize and lead the third-party control assessments performed on behalf of the business.
• Leverage the TPRM toolset to develop a cadence of dashboard reports that present the current risk posture of the business area’s third parties, which may include factors such as financial viability, geopolitical risk, and external information security threats.
• Identify opportunities for overall program and process improvements, and develop strategic and tactical plans to implement changes that will lead to a more mature and efficient practice.
• Develop an expert understanding of the business areas that are being supported, which includes both organizational and functional attributes.
• Promote a risk-aware culture, and ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required internal standards and regulations.
• Maintain broad knowledge of best practices and trends in third-party risk



  •  Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience
  • • Relevant experience with one or more of the following: Third Party Risk, Vendor Performance & Portfolio Management, Supply Chain Management, Operational Risk, Audit
  • Demonstrate familiarity with insurance industry
  • Knowledge of various third-party assessment types
  • Additional preferred qualifications
    • CTPRP or similar certification
    • Proficient in ServiceNow GRC and Vendor Risk platforms are a plus
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
