Our consumer digital platforms play a key role supporting the New York Life brand and facilitating connections between our agents and customers, as well as agent candidates and recruiters. As part of the Marketing and Process Operations team responsible for newyorklife.com, you will help shape governance, procedures, and investments in our digital marketing products. 

 

We are seeking a Product Owner with diverse digital marketing experience across analytics, tag management tools, and/or personalization software to lead identification, development and launch of enhancements across the Adobe Experience Cloud suite of products. This role will be responsible for developing a sequenced roadmap, partnering with stakeholders, prioritization, and delivery of marketing capabilities. This includes working with stakeholders to identify opportunities across multiple solutions and teams. This role will report to the Corporate Vice President, Corporate Web Product Owner.

 

What great looks like in this role:
•  Goal-oriented problem-solving across various digital marketing strategies, as well as thorough planning and organization in defining business needs and charting a path to solve them.
• Partnership with a team of Digital Product Owners responsible for maximizing the company’s investment in MarTech and data to implement and report on progress.
•  Clear communication on platform and process investments to support business use cases benefits.
•  Willingness to embed with various digital teams within Marketing, understand their pain points and bring stakeholders together to implement solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Stakeholder Needs Assessment: partners with Product Managers and Product Owners within Marketing to develop a clear set of goals, strategic vision, and strategy inclusive of Adobe Experience Cloud products with defined use cases. 
•    Sequenced roadmap development: in partnership with leaders, create and maintain a detailed platform roadmap. Drive the ongoing identification of business needs and/or opportunities for improvement. Work with stakeholders including Product Owners and Technology teams to prioritize and schedule activities. Develop a sequenced roadmap that defines stakeholders impacted, business value delivered and key milestones. 
•    Prioritized backlog, grooming, user story definition and Agile support: in partnership with Product Owners, create, maintain, and prioritize a well-defined backlog. Proven ability to translate the plan into feature and user story documentation. Attend agile ceremonies including daily standups, planning, and retrospectives, working in partnership with technology teams on execution.
•    Project execution and leadership: in partnership with the project teams, drive, negotiate, and prioritize activities and problem solve to mitigate risks to meet business commitments by staying on-schedule and within budget. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of stakeholders, project managers, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, and testers to build, execute and release features in alignment with strategic programs and automation initiatives. 
•    Digital marketing subject matter expertise: brings digital marketing subject matter expertise to business and Technology teams. Leverages knowledge of best practices related to use and adoption of marketing technologies. Builds on this background with knowledge of New York Life platforms and roadmap and can plan for cross platform interoperability and use.   
•    Technology Selection and Vendor Support: Occasionally partners with technology and procurement to review RFPs and evaluate solutions and vendors to support platform selection. Collaborate with platform vendors to influence base product roadmaps to meet New York Life’s process needs and goals.
•    Testing and deployment: Review and support the development of user acceptance test plans with our Technology teams to ensure a quality and defect free deliverable to our users.  In some instances, support business user acceptance testing responsibilities (test plans and use cases creation to reflect requirements which demonstrate a deliverable meets a quality standard and is ready for use).
•    User training and change management: collaborating with subject matter experts and managers to create clear and concise training materials, resource guides, how-to guides. Develop clear communications on, and where needed change management plans, socialization plans to support adoption and ensure business readiness for new and enhanced tools, processes, and functions.

 

Skills & Competencies
•    Strong verbal and written communications, combined with technical acumen, understanding of leading marketing tools and platforms, and scaled agile
•    Strong digital proficiency including launching new experiences, working with web content producers, designers, content authors, web analytics and personalization team members
•    Understanding of digital marketing strategies, content management system principles, web analytics, and tag management software
•    High energy, self-motivated and willingness to adapt approach and communications based on audience
•    Proven ability to develop partnerships with Business and Technology stakeholders
•    Excited to work in an organization that values and empowers an entrepreneurial spirit and specialized expertise
•    System/process oriented, problem solver, ability to manage multiple initiatives and balance the need to work strategically and hands-on

 

Experience
•    Bachelor’s Degree
•    5+ years of relevant experience
•    Experience working with a team of product owners to integrate and connect digital marketing technologies to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness
•    Experience must include working in a scaled agile delivery framework (SAFe) using agile software (Jira) or the equivalent.
•    Experience with Marketing and Advertising Technology platforms (such as CMS, DAM, CRM, Marketing Automation)
