The Digital Strategy, Consulting and Planning team works closely with the Marketing Leadership Team to help define & articulate the digital strategy for Marketing and support oversight and execution of key strategic digital transformation initiatives. This team also partners with Senior Leaders in the various business and functional areas across New York Life to understand their digital marketing needs and supports development and execution of digital solutions to address those needs.

 

The team’s role typically includes framing and analyzing complex business problems, implementing innovative digital solutions, driving adoption of digital solutions, and playing a key role in informing and influencing decision making to ensure marketing’s digital transformation initiatives are aligned to enterprise goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Thought Leadership and Advisory

  • Identify digital marketing needs across New York Life and develop recommendations for digital and innovative solutions to address those needs
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative research data, business goals, and requirements; use analysis to form the basis of recommendations and solution design
  • Present recommendations to senior leadership
  • Stay up to date with latest digital trends and best practices

 

Digital Transformation

  • Partner with Experience Strategy team and other subject matter experts across New York Life to define the long-term vision and business strategy for the digital transformation initiatives
  • Perform cost benefit analysis and develop business case for strategic digital transformation initiatives
  • Drive discovery, design, and implementation of digital transformation initiatives within Marketing
  • Define the change management strategy for digital transformation initiatives to minimize disruption and drive adoption of new digital solutions
  • Support KPI reporting, business reviews, and program analysis for executive meetings

 

Planning

  • Support prioritization of digital transformation initiatives within Marketing based on business and enterprise needs
  • Develop multi-year digital transformation roadmap for Marketing
  • Facilitate reviews of Marketing’s digital transformation initiatives & assessment of budget and resource allocations
  • Support agenda and material development for meetings with senior executives

  • Must be strategic, as well as detail oriented and process focused
  • Ability to create executive level presentations and communications
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive leadership alignment
  • Ability to build relationships and reach across the organization to influence areas outside direct line of reporting
  • Strong and effective communication skills; ability to present to senior leaders, as well as peers in a clear manner, fostering dialogue and helping to drive decisions
  • Outstanding critical thinking, analytical and quantitative abilities

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or master’s degree in related field strongly preferred
  • 7+ years’ work experience, with 5+ years of functional experience in management consulting/ product management/ digital transformation
  • Experience in financial services preferred, insurance expertise is a plus 
  • Experience in Digital Strategy and Business Case Development
  • Proven experience leading and conducting primary and secondary research and translating findings into recommendations
  • Experience in driving multiple digital and innovation projects and work-streams, including project planning, execution, and milestone reporting
  • Experience working in an Agile design and solution development environment with interdisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with software and product development lifecycle (research, design, development, test, and launch)
  • Broad understanding of emerging digital marketing capabilities (e.g., Content Personalization, Advanced Digital Targeting), leading MarTech platforms and current technology trends
